The Night Horse is a Mythical pet from Grow a Garden's Harvest Moon update. You only get it from a Moon Egg, and the hatch chance sits at 9.5%.
Its passive, Selenic Steed, occasionally sacrifices a fruit to put Moonbeam on other fruit in your garden. That keeps Moonbeam moving between Harvest Moon weather windows instead of waiting on the event alone.
For the full Moon Egg shop path, restock details, premium options, and the four-pet pool side by side, use the Moon Egg pets guide. Here the focus is the Night Horse: how you reach that 9.5% roll, and what the sacrifice passive is actually for.

Hatch the Night Horse from a Moon Egg (9.5%)
Night Horse does not show up in a normal pet shop. It hatches from the Moon Egg, the Harvest Moon event egg with four possible pets.
- Run Harvest Moon. Place fruits on the event pedestals to summon the weather (about a ten-minute window when it starts).
- Farm Moonbeam. During that weather, fruit can pick up the Moonbeam mutation.
- Sell Moonbeam fruit for Moon Coins. Those coins are the main free currency for the Moon Egg.
- Buy a Moon Egg from the Harvest Moon / Moon Event shop with Moon Coins or Robux. Trust the price on the shop screen in your session if listings differ elsewhere.
- Hatch the egg. Night Horse is 9.5% of the Moon Egg pool. The other rolls are more common pets plus the ultra-rare Moon Dragon at 0.5%.
Do not mix this up with the older Night Egg from past night-style events. Night Horse only comes from the Moon Egg.
The egg can also land Opposum or Lunar Moth more often than Night Horse. Those are normal pulls, not a broken hatch. Full odds and ability writeups for every Moon Egg pet live on the Moon Egg pets guide.
Night Horse hunger is high (66,000), so once it is equipped you will feed it often. The feed-a-pet guide covers that loop if you are still sorting hunger and active slots.
Selenic Steed trades a fruit for Moonbeam on another crop
Put Night Horse in an active pet slot. Selenic Steed is a passive. It is not a button you press.
In plain terms: the pet occasionally channels magic through a fruit, sacrifices that fruit, and applies Moonbeam to random other fruit in your garden. Think occasional sacrifice in, Moonbeam elsewhere out. There is no fixed timer you can count down like a craft cooldown.
Why players equip it: Harvest Moon weather is not always up. Between summons, Selenic Steed can still push Moonbeam onto crops so you keep selling for Moon Coins and keep event currency moving.
Moonbeam also raises crop sell value compared with plain fruit. Treat that as a real boost, not a single magic multiplier you can lock in from a fan sheet.
The tradeoff is honest. You lose the sacrificed fruit. The passive is not free money. It works best when your garden has spare or fodder crops you can afford to lose, not when every plant is a prize you cannot replace.
Compared with chasing only Moon Dragon (0.5%), Night Horse is the practical Mythical in the same egg. Easier to roll, still useful for Moonbeam between weather windows. It is not a guaranteed profit machine, and burning every high-value fruit for one more Moonbeam is a bad trade.
If you are weighing pet slots more broadly, the pets tier list helps you decide what stays equipped after the hatch grind.
