The Dave Rod is a quest reward in Fisch, the fishing game on Roblox, so you can't buy it from the shop. You earn it by reaching level 250, finding Dave on top of The Arch, and finishing his three rock quests in order. Those quests ask for one Boulder, then 250 Rocks, then one final Rock.

Reach Level 250 and Find Dave on The Arch in Fisch
Dave won't start his questline until you reach level 250. If you're under that level, he won't talk to you at all, so level up before you make the trip.
- Spawn your boat at Moosewood and sail northwest into the ocean.
- Head toward Mushgrove Swamp. The Statue of Sovereignty is on the way.
- Find the arch-shaped rock with a single tree on top, and dock on the side facing the swamp.
- Climb to the summit. A Velocity Coil or Gravity Coil makes the climb easier.
- Talk to Dave, who stands on the very top.
The climb is mostly walking and jumping up slanted rock faces, with a bit of light parkour. The swamp side gives you the easiest slope, which is why docking there saves time.
Dave is hard to miss. He's built from rocks, with a carved smile and a small cairn balanced on his head, and he talks in short, all-caps lines. Interacting with him starts the first conversation and the questline.
Catch a Boulder in Keeper's Altar
Dave's first request is one Boulder. The Boulder is a Divine Secret fish, and you catch it in Keeper's Altar.
- Head to the Statue of Sovereignty and enter the Mines.
- Follow the Mines to Keeper's Altar and fish there until a Boulder comes up.
- Hold the Boulder and talk to Dave.
The base catch chance is 1 in 1,000,000, or 0.0001%, so this is the step that takes patience.
Dave only needs to see the Boulder, not keep it. If you talk to him without holding it, he keeps asking "WHERE BOULDER?" and the quest won't move forward. Once he sees it, the quest advances, and the Boulder stays in your inventory.
Collect 250 Rocks for Dave's Second Quest
Dave's second request is 250 Rocks. Rock is a common Trash catch that you can find across the map, so rarity isn't the issue. The challenge is the amount, since you need the full count at the same time.
Two things make the job easier:
- Sunstone Island or Sanctum are suggested spots for fishing Rocks.
- Equip a rod with negative Luck, such as the Training Rod, and use Magnet Bait to improve your catches.
Hold all 250 in your inventory before you talk to him. If you come by early, he'll comment on how many you have and end the conversation. When you have enough, choose the option to hand them over. He takes exactly 250 and leaves any extras in your bag.
Give Dave One Final Rock to Get the Dave Rod
After the 250 Rocks, Dave asks for one more. He calls it the special last rock and treats it as the final piece of his collection. Catch one more Rock and hand it over to finish his questline.
Once Dave accepts it, the questline is complete, and the Dave Rod is added to your account as a new fishing rod option.
