Standard Edition is the better buy for most players. It costs $79.99 and includes the full Grand Theft Auto VI base game, along with the same time-limited bonuses that come with Ultimate. Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 and adds 16 named extras, including vehicles, weapons, clothing, five special shops and a car collection, so it's only worth the extra $20 if those extras appeal to you.

What GTA 6 Standard Edition Includes
Grand Theft Auto VI is a crime game set in a massive world, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The base game is single-player. You follow Jason and Lucia, whose easy score goes wrong in Vice City and pulls them into a criminal conspiracy across the state of Leonida. Standard Edition includes this same game as Ultimate, so it isn't a stripped-down version.
Standard Edition buyers also get two time-limited bonuses if they buy by November 19, 2026. On Xbox, the exact cutoff is 23:59:59 that day, and purchases made after it get only the base game. The first bonus is the Vintage Vice City Pack, which is available in both digital and physical versions. It includes a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage at Shore Court, near Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and an exclusive weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt.
The second bonus is one month of GTA+, and it only comes with digital purchases. The membership includes a monthly GTA$500,000 deposit into your GTA Online character's bank account, Shark Cards with 15% bonus GTA$, and access to free and discounted GTA Online vehicles. On PlayStation, the membership renews automatically after the free month unless you cancel. On Xbox, you have 180 days from pre-ordering to redeem it.
What the 16 GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Extras Include
Ultimate Edition is the same base game as Standard with an upgrade added. It isn't a more complete version of the game. The upgrade holds 16 named extras spread across Jason and Lucia's story, with new items uncovered behind each chapter. They fall into five groups.

Vehicles
- '95 Grotti Cheetah: a mid-'90s sports car with a retro-futuristic livery.
- Jason's Safehouse Vehicles: an Army-fatigue-tinged Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest Kayak.
- Ganado Retro Build: Jason's Vapid Ganado low-rider pickup with exclusive mods and classic styling.
- Shitzu Squalo: a pink and blue watercraft with an explosives-laden weapons crate.
- '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Garage: an off-road buggy you can store at the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay.
Weapons
- Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers: his and hers revolvers with classic Vice City styling.
- Personalized Weapon Variants: engraved versions of Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17 pistols.
Style and Clothing
- Vice City Styles: exclusive outfits, hairstyles and tattoos for Jason and Lucia.
- Goodtime Gear: apparel and accessories inspired by Macca the Gator, a character from a hit TV show.
Shops and Mod Shops
The following five are only open for business with Ultimate Edition.
- Rideout Customs Mod Shop: vehicle mods with detailed interiors, rims and donk styling.
- Sara's Unisex Salon: salon styles, including facial hair for Jason and makeup and nails for Lucia.
- Stock 305 Clothing Store: streetwear looks for both characters.
- Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor: more than 50 tattoos for both characters, designed by the artist collective FAILE.
- One-Eyed Willie's Mod Shop: off-road modifications and hand-painted artwork at Lake Leonida.
Activities
- PTT Youngin$ Compound: a raid on a gang compound to score special items and distinct contraband.
- Classic Car Collection: a commission from the eccentric collector and local fixer Wyman to track down and restore project cars.
Digital or Physical: Which GTA 6 Format to Buy
Standard Edition is the only edition sold as a physical box. The box contains a download code rather than a disc, so you still download the game. Physical buyers get the Vintage Vice City Pack, but they miss out on the GTA+ month, which only comes with digital purchases.
If you want the GTA+ month or the Ultimate extras, buy digitally. Ultimate isn't available physically, so digital is the only way to get it.
Can You Upgrade From Standard to Ultimate Later?
Yes. Standard owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade as a digital add-on at any time after redeeming their Standard download code, and physical buyers can do the same once their code has been used. The upgrade costs $20.00 on Microsoft Store, which works out to $99.99 in total on Xbox, the same as buying Ultimate outright. PlayStation Store lists the upgrade too, but it shows no price and can't be bought yet.
The upgrade itself doesn't include the time-limited bonuses, though. Those only come with editions bought before the cutoff, so buy in time if you want them.
Which GTA 6 Edition Is Worth Buying
Choose Standard if you want the full game and the time-limited bonuses without the extra cost. It's the better value for most players, and you can add the upgrade later if you change your mind. Don't pick Ultimate just for the Vintage Vice City Pack or the GTA+ month, because digital Standard purchases get both too.
Choose Ultimate if you'd actually use the vehicles, weapons, customization, the five special shops, the compound raid and the car collection, and those are worth $20 to you. Apart from those 16 extras, the two editions offer the same game and bonuses. If you're buying after the cutoff, neither edition includes the time-limited bonuses, so the choice comes down to the extras and that $20.
