To catch Boulder in Fisch, you need to fish at Keeper's Altar, an area reached through the Sovereignty Cave north of Moosewood. The base catch chance there is a fixed 1 in 1,000,000 (0.0001%) per catch, and a completed Crew Rod mastery is the only thing that raises it, to about 1 in 333,333.
Boulder looks like a giant rock, but the game counts it as a fish in the Divine Secret group. It's one of the rarest catches in Fisch, so it helps to know the route, the safety rules, and what actually changes the odds before you start.
| Method | Where | Catch chance |
|---|---|---|
| Normal fishing | Keeper's Altar | 1 in 1,000,000 (0.0001%) |
| Fishing with the Crew Rod, mastery completed | Keeper's Altar | 1 in 333,333 (0.0003%) |
| Super Rockfall admin event | Any water body | 1 in 1,000 (0.1%) |
| Rocks admin event | Any water body | 1 in 100,000 (0.001%) |
| Divine Dream admin event | Any water body | 1 in 100,000 (0.001%) |
How to Reach Keeper's Altar in Fisch
Keeper's Altar is easy to miss if you don't know the route, so follow these steps in order.
- Start from Moosewood and spawn a boat.
- Sail north until you see a big statue. That's the Statue of Sovereignty, a small island.
- Head into the Sovereignty Cave inside the statue. Cole, the character standing beside the elevator, is the one who sells the ride.
- Pay Cole C$400 for an elevator ride, or C$100,000 for permanent access.
- Ride the wooden elevator down to Keeper's Altar.

Staying Safe at Keeper's Altar
Keeper's Altar has one hazard that matters more than anything else. Falling into its water kills you instantly, so don't jump down the shaft or fall in while you're moving around.
Stay on the safe overhang to the right of the altar, which is the spot to fish from. It keeps you out of the water while you cast and reel.
Boulder's Catch Odds and What Changes Them
Boulder doesn't prefer any bait, weather, season, or time of day, so you don't need to set up anything before you cast. Every attempt at the altar is the same roll, and changing your setup won't change that.
Luck is the stat most players reach for first, but normal Luck doesn't affect Divine Secret catch odds. A high-Luck rod won't raise your chances for Boulder, so don't choose a rod for that reason.
The one confirmed boost is a completed Crew Rod mastery. Once you've finished that mastery and fish with the Crew Rod, you get 3× Divine Secret chance. Even with that boost, Boulder is a long shot, so plan on casting for a while.

Reeling In Boulder Takes Patience
Boulder is very resilient, so it barely moves, or may not move at all, while you reel it. The game also applies -99% Locked Progress Speed during the reel, so the minigame can stay slow even after you've hooked it.
When you hook Boulder, a shimmering sound plays, as it does with every Divine Secret fish, so you'll know you've got one. Be ready for a slow reel rather than a quick one.

Catching Boulder During Admin Events in Fisch
Boulder can also turn up during certain admin events. During those events you can catch it in any water body, so you don't need the elevator route.
The events don't offer the same odds. Super Rockfall is far more generous than Rocks or Divine Dream, which share the same much lower chance. Since these only work while an event is running, Keeper's Altar is still the route you can plan around.
Using Boulder for Dave's Quest in Fisch
Boulder is required for the first step of Dave's quest, so if you want to start that path, you'll need to catch one. Once you have it, show it to Dave to complete that step, which moves you toward the Dave Rod.
