To spawn a Cursed Storm in Fisch, use a Cursed Storm Totem for a guaranteed spawn, or an Aurora Totem for a chance to trigger one. Once the storm appears, travel to the island named in the server announcement and cast into its fishing pool. Catches inside that pool can receive the Cursed mutation, which turns an ordinary fish into a Cursed fish.

How to Spawn Cursed Storm in Fisch
The Cursed Storm Totem is the most reliable option because it starts the event directly. Buy one when it appears in the Daily Shop, or check the Rare Goods Dealer at the Shady Bazaar. His selection rotates, so the totem is not always available.
Once you have the totem:
- Equip the Cursed Storm Totem from your inventory.
- Activate it to start the event.
- Read the server notification identifying the pool’s location.
- Take your boat to the announced island and find the event pool.
An Aurora Totem is another option if you already have one. Use it at night to start Aurora Borealis; the start of that event has a chance to trigger Cursed Storm too. An Aurora announcement alone does not confirm that the storm appeared, so wait for the separate Cursed Storm notification before travelling.
If you are buying a totem specifically for Cursed fish, choose the guaranteed method when possible. A cheaper Aurora Totem can become an expensive attempt if it fails to produce the storm.
Where to Find the Cursed Storm Pool
The Cursed Storm Pool can appear near different islands, and the server announcement tells you where to go. Follow that location instead of heading straight to Grand Reef and assuming the pool will be there. The event affects a particular fishing area, so fishing elsewhere on the same server does not give you its benefits.
When you arrive, look for the storm’s green effects over the water and position yourself so your cast lands inside the pool. Being near the island is not enough; your fishing line needs to reach the affected water.
Avoid using a Sundial Totem while the storm is active. Changing the time can end the event early, cutting short your chance to fish there.
How to Catch Cursed Fish in Fisch
Fish inside the Cursed Storm Pool for an 8% chance per catch to receive the Cursed mutation. The pool also gives double XP on catches, including fish that do not receive the mutation. A successful storm spawn guarantees access to the pool, but it does not guarantee a Cursed fish on your next cast.
Keep casting and check each catch for the Cursed mutation. Several ordinary catches in a row are possible, so do not spend another totem simply because your first attempts fail. Confirm that your line is still inside the active pool before changing anything.
If you are completing the D.R.E.D Rod quest, its Cursed-fish task requires nine Cursed catches. Fish from the separate FischFright pool do not replace this requirement; you need the Cursed mutation on your catches.
