Start with the tutorial's Bunny Egg. Hatch it, place the pet in your pen, and let it earn cash while you plan your next purchase. Fake an Egg is a Roblox game where you hatch pets that earn cash for you, and you can disguise yourself as an egg to steal pets from other players.

Hatch the Tutorial Bunny Egg for Your First Pet
The tutorial walks you through hatching a Bunny Egg. Carry the egg to your pen, which is labeled with your username, and place it where eggs hatch. Once it hatches, the Bunny Pet stays in your pen and starts earning cash on its own.
A starter pet earns slowly, so the cash itself isn't the point of this step. It proves the core loop of hatch, place, and earn, and every upgrade after this builds on that pet working for you.

Buy Eggs by Income, Price, and Open Pen Slots
Eggs don't all pay back at the same speed. Each pet earns a set amount of cash per second, so the displayed income and the price tell you how quickly an egg pays for itself. Divide the price by the income per second to get a rough payback time, then choose the egg with the fastest payback among the ones you can afford.
Check your open pen slots before you buy. An egg with a quick payback does nothing if its pet has no open slot, so buy when a slot is free or when you're ready to upgrade your pen.
Rarer eggs usually cost more and hatch pets that earn more per second. Mutations add to that: pets with Gold, Diamond, or Rainbow in their name earn more than the same pet without one, so check the name before you choose which pet to keep or steal.
Claim Index Rewards for Every New Discovery
The Index is your collection log. It tracks the pets, weather events, and mutations you've discovered, and each new entry unlocks a one-time reward. You have to claim each reward yourself, so open the Index after a new hatch or discovery and claim what's ready.
Rewards can include cash and items. Claiming early puts that cash to work on your next egg or pen upgrade, so it's worth checking the Index whenever something new shows up.
Upgrade Your Pen for Pet Slots and Cash Boosts
Your pen has a set number of pet slots. Each pen upgrade adds one more slot, and later upgrades cost more than earlier ones. Buy an upgrade when your slots are full and you have an egg worth filling the new slot with, since an empty slot earns you nothing.
When your pen has a feeder, add pet food to its trough. A full trough gives your pets up to 50% more cash while food remains in it, so keep it stocked.
Disguise as an Egg to Steal Pets From Other Players
Fake an Egg is built around two ideas: disguising yourself as an egg and stealing pets. Players can hide as eggs in the middle of the map, and you can too. Pick an egg you've unlocked from the disguise menu in your pen, then stand among the real eggs. Wait for another player to carry you into their pen.
A steal means taking a pet from another player's pen. Bring it back to your own pen, because a pet only earns for you once it's in your pen. Other players can do the same to you, so keep an eye on your own pets.
Use Scanner Gear to Check Eggs Before You Pay
Because players can disguise themselves as eggs, buying blind is risky. Scanner gear lets you check an egg before you pay for it. Equip a scanner, use its scan prompt on the egg, and find out whether it's real before you hand over any cash.
Scanners are sold at the Scanners Shop, which sits near the Weather Machine and the Pet Food shop.
Checking first keeps your cash for real eggs, which protects the progress you've built in your pen.

Rebirth When the Rebirth Screen Says You Qualify
Rebirth resets your cash to zero and gives you permanent boosts: a cash multiplier and a hatch speed bonus. Your pets stay, so the only thing you give up is the cash you've saved. That makes an early Rebirth a low-risk move, since the boosts apply to everything you earn afterward.
The Rebirth screen lists what you need to qualify. Check it there rather than relying on a number you remember from somewhere else.
