Basic Products are the everyday groceries of a Supermarket Together store, from pasta, rice and water to sugar, flour, coffee and baking goods. You unlock them in tiers on the franchise board with Franchise Points, order them from the Manager Blackboard, and stock them on shelves for customers to buy.

How to Unlock Basic Products
You earn Franchise Points by gaining XP, which comes from selling products and placing items such as shelves. If you go through the tutorial at the start, you get some points straight away, and you can use them to begin unlocking the first line on the board.
Each later tier has its own requirement, so check the board before you spend your points. Basic Products II needs Dairy Products I and Infusions I, and III needs II, with IV needing III in turn. Basic Products V needs Hygiene I and Sweets and Snacks I, VI needs Meat I, and VII needs VI.
It's worth waiting until you have enough room on the matching shelf type and at least $1,000 to buy the new stock. That way the products have somewhere to go as soon as they arrive.
Some tiers matter more than others. Basic Products I is the starting line, and it's what gets your shop selling. Basic Products III and IV matter for a second reason, because they open other parts of the board: III opens Produce I, and IV opens Sweets and Snacks I. Basic Products VII is a little different, since every product in it is a baking good from one brand, MasterCooker.
How to Buy Basic Products from the Manager Blackboard
Once a tier is unlocked, its products can be ordered from the Manager Blackboard. Open the Product Order tab, which is organized by category, and find the Basic Products group. Pick a product and press the plus button to add it to your shopping list, and you'll pay the market price for it.
If you'd rather not choose one at a time, the single plus button under a category adds one pack of every product in that category to your list. Each product also shows three colored counts: red for how many are on your product shelves, green for how many are in your warehouse, and yellow for how many are waiting outside at the barriers.
The yellow count is the one to watch after a delivery, since new boxes wait at the barriers until you carry them in. Reading all three colors together tells you what's on your shelves, what's in storage, and what still needs moving.
How to Stock Basic Products on Shelves
Your deliveries wait outside at the barriers, so that's where stocking starts. Pick up a box with a left click, carry it to the right shelf, and left click on a free space to place the products. Holding the click fills a shelf faster when you have a lot to move.
Nearly all Basic Products go on Product Shelves, and each shelf has four spaces for different products. Every product has a set amount that fits in one space, so a shelf with the same product in all four spaces holds four times that amount.
A box rarely fills a space exactly, so some products need more than one box per space, and others leave stock left over in the box. Leftover stock can go onto a Storage Shelf in the warehouse, which remembers the product it last held. To take products off a shelf, pick up an empty box and right click on the shelf.
Margarine is the one exception, because it goes in a fridge instead of a Product Shelf. Each box label shows the container its product needs, such as a fridge, a freezer or a Product Shelf, so check it before you carry the box over.
How to Price Basic Products to Make a Profit
Market prices change every Thursday because of inflation, so check the prices on your shelves each week. Selling at exactly the market price won't earn you much, because the profit comes from raising prices above it. Just don't push them so high that customers stop buying.
Customers will never pay more than double the market price minus 10 cents, so that's the ceiling to work under.
To set a price, take a Pricing Device from the Manager Room and look at a product on a shelf. Scroll with the mouse to change the price, hold E to scroll faster, and left click to confirm. If you have a numpad, you can type the price in instead.
If you want employees to ignore a line or a whole shelf, first empty that space, then look at it with the Pricing Device and right click to reset it. Once it's reset, employees skip that line or shelf, so you can leave it empty or put other products there.
FAQ
How much margarine fits in a fridge?
A double fridge holds 30 margarine and a single fridge holds 12, so you can plan your orders around the fridges you have.
Is there a faster way to change prices?
Yes. The Central Pricing Machine lets you change the price of any product without going to each shelf. You'll find it in the Builder Menu under Devices.
Can I buy empty boxes?
Yes. The Manager Blackboard has a Buy empty box button, which buys one box labeled with a random product but holding zero items. Those are handy when you need an empty box to clear a shelf.
