All 8 Breathing Styles in Slayers 2

Updated on (1 day ago)

A Breathing Style is the sword kit a Slayer learns from a trainer at level 25. The one you can start is the one you can reach and pay for. A louder finisher does not make the walk shorter.

How to use this collection

Trainer is who teaches the style. Area is the route to that person. Level is the level required to start, not a strength rank. Wen and Materials show only confirmed costs. A blank means that cost is not listed, so do not read it as zero and do not paste in another guide's price. Moves names the abilities. What it does is how those abilities play.

Breathing Styles

8 items

The trainer takes the listed payment, then you finish that style's quest, including the trainee fight. The moves come after the quest, and the later ones still cost skill points.

Thunder Breathing

A forward dash turns into a wide slash, followed by a jump slam, a thunder field that cuts anyone caught in it, a zigzag rush, and a lightning cutscene that ends as a thunder-dragon slash.

Trainer
Zentaro
Area
Highest peak above Hidden Mist Village, uphill past the bear area
Level

Wen

Materials
10 Demon Horns

Water Breathing

A horizontal dash slash, a water vortex, and a spinning wheel slash lead into a flowing combo shaped like a water dragon. The last move catches enemies in a calm zone, then finishes with a crashing wave.

Trainer
Urokodaki
Area
Underwater passage by the island house near the Bamboo Grove waterfall
Level
25
Wen
5,000
Materials
30 Demon Horns

Stone Breathing

Four strikes end in a knockdown, a short spiral dash sets up a heavy slash, and a flail smash is followed by the axe. A ground slam raises a rock wall you can fire forward, and the last spin launches the target into a downslam.

Trainer
Gyorei
Area
Stone Sanctuary, on the lower path from the bear area
Level
25
Wen
-
Materials
Axe and Mace

Flame Breathing

A flaming dash can launch a target, a leaping slash slams the ground, and a spinning cyclone can also answer an attack. A tiger projectile bites and explodes, and the last move is a hellfire dash finished with two slashes.

Trainer
Rengu
Area
Roof by the long red bridge out of Mistfall Village, toward the Forgotten Ruins
Level
25
Wen

Materials
10 Demon Horns

Wind Breathing

An upward swing launches you into a slash. A downward claw can be followed from above, a vertical cyclone hits several times, a two-hit slash knocks the target back, and the last spin is a horizontal wind cyclone.

Trainer
Saneri
Area
Water platform in Iceveil Valley, reached along the fallen tree by the shrine
Level
25
Wen
-
Materials
50 Demon Horns

Sound Breathing

A dash slash is followed by an explosion. A ground stomp can counter into an upward launch, thrown beads detonate on contact, a slash flurry ends in knockback, and the last rush finishes from behind the target.

Trainer
Tengai
Area
Small island north of the Iceveil Valley shrine
Level
25
Wen
-
Materials
10 Demon Horns

Insect Breathing

Repeated thrusts dash into a short area hit, a charged thrust shoots you forward, and a leap damages whoever you land on. An upward slash becomes a zigzag dash, and a charged thrust can launch a target and slam them down.

Trainer
Shinora
Area
Roof of the main building at Butterfly Estate

Serpent Breathing

A jump slam mixes sword and snake hits, a charged slash string hits hard, and a dash launches the target into more slashes. A thrust reappears behind the target, and the last dash leaves clones that attack from several sides.

Trainer
Obari
Area
Cliffs north of Windy Peak, on the Bamboo Grove-facing side
Level

Wen

Materials
20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores

What to pay

Level 25 opens a trainer. It does not set the price.

Horns, Beast Cores, and Wen are not one shared bill. Bring what that trainer lists, and leave the extra stack at home.

Urokodaki wants 5,000 Wen and 30 Demon Horns for Water. Saneri wants 50 Demon Horns for Wind and does not list Wen. Obari wants 20 Demon Horns and 5 Beast Cores for Serpent. Gyorei wants an Axe and a Mace for Stone, not horns.

Rengu, Zentaro, and Tengai each want 10 Demon Horns, for Flame, Thunder, and Sound. Insect's horn count and Wen are not listed, so do not treat Shinora as free.

Trainer routes

Thunder and Stone both leave the bear area, then split. Zentaro is the highest peak above Hidden Mist Village, uphill past the bears, and that path needs Wall Climb. Gyorei is Stone Sanctuary on the lower path. Stay low for Stone. The uphill peak is a long walk once you notice you wanted the other teacher.

Urokodaki is underwater, in the passage by the island house near the Bamboo Grove waterfall. He is not waiting in Arodaki.

Rengu is on the roof by the long red bridge out of Mistfall Village, toward the Forgotten Ruins. A dam is the wrong stop.

Saneri and Tengai are in Iceveil Valley. The valley drains your health until you use a campfire or an Emberheart Lantern, so do not start that walk already low. Saneri stands on the water platform along the fallen tree by the shrine. Tengai is on the small island north of that shrine, and the island needs Wall Climb.

Obari is on the cliffs north of Windy Peak, on the side facing Bamboo Grove, and that cliff also needs Wall Climb. Shinora is on the roof of the main building at Butterfly Estate.

Skill points

Each level gives you three skill points. Spend the early ones on movement and survival. Wall Climb is required to reach Zentaro, Tengai, and Obari. Double jump is the other travel unlock to take before a long trainer walk, and it is not an extra material.

Leave the style's own moves until that trainer's quest is finished. Buying a finisher you cannot use yet is a very expensive way to walk.

FAQ

Q.

Can a Demon learn a Breathing Style?

No. Breathing Styles are the Slayer kit, learned from a trainer at level 25. A Demon drops to -40 reputation, finds Muzan, finishes his quest, and drinks his blood for a Blood Demon Art.

Q.

Does learning a Breathing Style unlock Final Selection?

No. The trainer quest gives you the style. Final Selection opens at level 45. Clear its objectives, beat the Hand Demon, and turn the exam in. A first solo try is often easier closer to 60, but 45 is the gate.

Q.

What does maxing a Breathing Style change?

Max mastery unlocks that style's Perfected title. The equipped buff is 1.02x Breathing Damage Factor for the style you are using. The passive is 1x Breathing Damage Factor, so maxing another style does not hide a second 1.02x in the background.
