Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is a digital card game where you build decks and battle other players. Its cards come in card sets, which are themed batches of new cards released in packs. Each set brings its own characters and ideas, and the format you play decides which sets your deck can use. Knowing how the sets fit together makes it easier to see which cards you can play and where to get them.

What Are Card Sets in Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond?
A card set is a group of new cards released together under a single name, and each set comes with its own packs. Basic cards are the exception, since they sit outside every set.
New sets keep arriving, and each one adds more characters, ideas and cards to build decks around. That steady flow keeps deck building fresh, since there is always something new to try alongside the cards you already have.
How Rotation, Unlimited, Simplified and Boundless Use Card Sets
Every format lets you use basic cards, and the formats differ in which sets you can add to a deck. Rotation uses a moving window of sets. When a new set comes out, the oldest set in that window leaves, which keeps the format focused on a smaller, shifting group of cards.
Unlimited opens every card set, so nothing rotates out. Because that gives decks a huge range, some cards are banned or restricted to help keep matches balanced.
Simplified works differently. Its matches use only the original versions of the first card set's cards, so the later sets stay out of play and the card pool stays fixed.
Boundless also lets decks use every card set. Together, these formats give you different ways to play with the same cards.
How to Get Cards From Each Card Set
Packs are the main way to get a set's cards. You open them with Rupies, which you earn by completing missions, and you can also open a free card pack every day. Each new set has its own missions that reward pack tickets, so you get more packs as the set comes out.
Extra copies of a card can be liquefied, which turns them into vials. Only copies past a certain limit can be liquefied, so you keep some copies of each card. You can then use vials to create the cards you still need.
The limit is there to nudge players toward other classes. Instead of stacking up copies of a single class's cards, you're encouraged to try others and build a wider collection.
Which Card Sets Matter Most
Which sets matter most depends on the format you play, but a few stand out for their themes. Skybound Dragons is a collaboration with Granblue Fantasy, so fans of that series will recognize its characters. Apocalypse Pact has a completely original theme, and it introduces a new faction called Encroachers. Chronicle of Destiny gathers characters from the original Shadowverse, grouped by class, and Revenants of Azvaldt brings back Convicts and Enforcers, so fans of that game will find plenty that feels familiar.
FAQ
Which card sets can I use in Rotation?
Check the News section in the game, which lists the sets in the Rotation window and changes as new sets arrive. Cards from a set that leaves the window still work in Unlimited and Boundless, so the cards you have keep their use.
Can I use Simplified cards I don't own?
Yes. Simplified lets you build decks from its cards even if you don't own them, so you can try the format before you collect anything.
Does the free daily pack count toward a guaranteed Legendary?
No. Only packs you buy count toward the guarantee, so the free daily pack doesn't help you reach it.
What are special cards with animations, and how do you get them?
Some card sets include special versions of cards with extra animations. Pack points can be spent on some of these, so they're a way to get them without relying only on luck.
