PlateUp! is a co-op restaurant game for up to four players, where you cook and serve customers as a team. Every meal you serve comes from a recipe, and the dishes you can make shape how smoothly a run goes and how much money you bring in. Standard runs are 15 days, and if you get through them, Overtime days follow until the run ends. Once you see how the pieces fit together, choosing your menu gets much easier.

What Recipes and Dishes Are in PlateUp!
Your menu is built from two kinds of things: a base recipe and food cards. The base recipe is the dish a whole run is built around, and food cards add more orders to it, from mains and extras to starters, sides and desserts. Everything you cook ends up on a customer's plate, and that's where your money comes from.
How Your Base Recipe Sets Up a Run
Each new run is set up at Headquarters, where you pick the base recipe you'll cook for the whole run. That choice is your first real decision, because it shapes which food cards come up later. Choose a dish you're happy to make over and over, since you'll be cooking it for the entire run.
How Base Recipes Unlock as You Level Up
You can't choose every base recipe from your first run, because each one unlocks as your experience level goes up. Steak is open from level 1, Salad from level 2 and Pizza from level 3. The rest come in as you climb, with Burgers at level 5, Pies at 7, Fish at 9, Hot Dogs at 11, Breakfast at 13 and Stir Fry at 15. Unlocks come from leveling up and aren't left to chance, so with enough play you'll reach the full set, even though the cards you're offered during a run are random.
Mains, Extras and Other Food Cards
Mains and extras arrive as food cards as your run goes on. A main card adds another main order to your base recipe, with examples such as bone-in, thick cut and thin cut steaks, lasagne, mushroom pies, oysters and nut roast. Extras add toppings, sauces or options to a dish, like burger toppings, cheeseburgers or a red wine jus steak sauce.
Starters, sides and desserts are their own groups of food cards, separate from mains and extras. Each one adds a course to a table's order, so the table has more to eat and more to pay for.
Weighing Difficulty Against What a Dish Pays
Every dish has a difficulty rating that shows how much work it takes to cook, from simple one-step plates to dishes with several ingredients and processes. A harder dish can pay more, but it also ties up your kitchen for longer. A dish that pays well but takes ages to make can earn less across a shift than a simpler one that tables get through quickly, so think about your layout before you take on a demanding card.
Which Recipes to Learn First
Steak and Pizza are the usual first picks, and for good reason. Both need only a few ingredients, are simple to put together, and they're among the first to unlock. Hot Dogs need extra ingredients, so they make more sense once you're comfortable with the basics.
Heat and Chill Cards Change the Challenge
Beating Day 15 with a dish unlocks its Heat cards, which make that dish harder across 10 challenge levels that stack. Chill works the other way, with three stacking levels that ease the pressure for players who want a gentler run.
FAQ
Can I turn on Chill for every dish from the start?
Yes. The Settings menu has an option to enable Chill for every available dish, so you don't have to clear Day 15 with each one first.
How do you serve fajitas in PlateUp!?
Serve them while they're still sizzling. If they cool down before a customer gets them, they need to be reheated before you can serve them.
Is guacamole a dish of its own?
No. Guacamole is an extra food card that goes with fajitas, the same way burger toppings go with burgers. Fajitas can be picked as a base recipe at Headquarters, and guacamole is added on top of it.
