Flying Rats are the GTA IV name for hidden pigeons. They perch on ledges, bridges, towers and waterfront structures across Liberty City and Alderney, and the list is built for players who listen for cooing while working borough by borough.
The numbers follow GTA Wiki’s Flying Rats map; another guide may use a different number for the same perch. Use the area and numbered screenshot together before marking a bird complete.

Broker
Southeast Liberty City: Firefly Island, Hove Beach, Downtown and nearby Broker neighborhoods.
Dukes
The northeastern mainland: Steinway, Meadows Park, East Island City, the airport and Charge Island.
Bohan
The northern island: South Bohan, Northern Gardens, Industrial and surrounding blocks.
Algonquin
The central island and nearby Colony and Happiness islands, organized by the location named on each marker.
Alderney
West of the river: Alderney City, Acter, Tudor, Port Tudor and nearby neighborhoods.
Crossings & waterways
Bridges, the Booth Tunnel and the Humboldt River. Match each numbered screenshot to the named crossing.
Plan by borough rather than by number. Broker and Dukes cover the eastern islands, Bohan concentrates the north, Algonquin holds the dense centre, and Alderney adds the western state. Many perches are high or exposed, so a rifle and a stable rooftop make the search easier, and some beaches and docks are simple on foot. Island access follows story progress, so avoid forcing a high-wanted-level crossing before the bridges are fully open. Each rat is a one-time target that counts toward completion and the associated Annihilator reward.
FAQ
Do I need a specific weapon?
A standard firearm works. Reach and line of sight matter more than weapon choice.
When should I start the route?
Once early missions give you free movement, but some boroughs are safer after their island open naturally through the story.
Is there an audible clue?
Yes. Listen for cooing near the area shown in the numbered screenshot before you scan for the bird.
