All 41 Weapons and Tools in Green Hell and How to Craft Them

Updated on November 1, 2026 (3 days ago)

Green Hell is a survival game set in the Amazon rainforest, where you have to make most of what you need to live. Weapons and tools are the blades, axes, pickaxes, spears, bows, arrows, blowpipe, torches and clubs you use to chop wood, mine iron, hunt, fish, light dark places and defend yourself. Most of them are crafted from simple materials, and the metal versions are among the strongest you can make.

How to Craft Weapons and Tools in Green Hell

Most weapons and tools are made by hand from simple materials. Sticks, stones, bones and rope cover most early recipes, and a long bamboo stick can stand in for a long stick in some of them.

Metal is the exception. Iron ore is mined from the walls of caves and smelted at a Mud Forge, then cast into the metal parts that go into your best gear. Some pieces can't be crafted at all, including tribal weapons and the Modern Axe, so you have to find or earn them.

Best Weapons in Green Hell by Damage

The War Club is the strongest melee weapon in the game, with 117 damage against humans, and you earn it from the Flamekeeper challenge. The Modern Axe, Tribal Axe and Heavy Stone Axe come next, each doing 35 against humans and 45 against wood, which makes them the best woodcutters. The Metal Spear does 30 against humans and 35 against animals, and it has the highest damage over time of any spear. For mining ore, the metal pickaxe is the best tool, doing 65 damage compared with 32 for the stone pickaxe.

Melee Weapons: Blades, Axes, Spears and Clubs

Melee weapons are the ones you use up close, and most of them double as tools. Blades are the simplest. A stone blade is cheap at two stones but weak, while the metal blade is the best knife you can make, though it costs a lot to forge.

Axes do most of your chopping, and the metal axe is the sturdy one that's also usable in a fight. Spears are your main hunting weapons, and the four-pronged spear suits small fish. The Aztec Weapon is a craftable club that takes two obsidian stones to make. The Heavy Stone Axe, Tribal Axe and Modern Axe hit hardest of the axes.

Bows, Arrows and Blowpipes for Hunting

Bows let you hunt and bowfish from a distance. A bow takes a long stick or long bamboo stick and rope, and arrows come from a small stick and two bird feathers, with metal arrows adding a metal arrowhead. The arrow you fire decides the damage, and how well you draw and aim comes down to your own skill.

The bamboo blowpipe is more of a capture tool than a weapon. It's made from a long bamboo stick and two ropes, and its darts do no damage on their own. Darts coated with poison from a poison dart frog put animals to sleep, which lets you capture capybaras, tapirs and peccaries alive for your pens.

Pickaxes and Torches for Mining and Light

Pickaxes are the tools for mining iron ore, so they're the gate to metal gear. The stone pickaxe is made from a stick, rope and a stone blade. It does the job, but it's weak in combat and only slightly stronger than a stone axe.

The metal pickaxe is made with a metal blade cast. It does far more damage to ore and can chop wood too, though it's no substitute for a proper axe. Torches are the light you carry into dark places. A weak torch needs only a stick and rope, while the regular torch also uses wood resin.

Where to Find the War Club and Other Rare Weapons

The War Club comes from the Flamekeeper Challenge. You build the Eternal Flame Totem in a Waraha village, improve it with gathered materials and then start the Ritual of Flame, where you defend the flame from an enemy horde. Surviving all 50 stages earns the War Club.

Waraha spearmen, thugs and hunters drop tribal spears, tribal axes and tribal bows. The Modern Axe is only in Spirits of Amazonia, where it spawns at the airstrip. The Rusty Axe is a Survival find, and the regular Machete is a Story pickup.

How Long Weapons and Tools Last in Green Hell

Every weapon and tool wears down with use, so expect to replace your early gear as you go.

Found pieces like the Rusty Axe can't be replaced once they break unless you find another, so it pays to keep a crafted tool as a backup.

FAQ

Q.

Can you fish with weapons in Green Hell?

Yes. A bow can be used for bowfishing, and the four-pronged spear is the one built for small fish.

Q.

What's the easiest weapon to make early on?

The stone blade needs just two stones, and the stone axe needs a stick and a stone. The weak spear is also easy to make, needing only a long stick. None of them are strong, but they'll get you started.

Q.

What do I need to make metal tools?

Every metal tool needs a working Mud Forge, and the metal parts are cast from melted iron in empty molds. A metal blade takes a metal blade cast and rope, a metal axe takes a stick, a metal axe cast and rope, and a metal spear takes a long stick, rope and a metal blade cast.
