Survive the Amazon rainforest in Green Hell, an open-world survival game from Creepy Jar. You play Jake Higgins, an anthropologist stranded in the jungle while searching for his missing wife, Mia. You begin with no food or equipment and no help from the outside world, so everything you need has to come from the jungle around you.
Each session follows the same loop of gathering, crafting, and staying alive. You gather wood, bamboo, stone, mud, and rope, then use them to build a shelter where you can rest and to make tools and weapons for hunting and self-defense. Hunger and thirst show on a watch on your left wrist, and if either runs empty, your health starts to drop. Sanity, your character's mental health, drops when you eat bad food or go without proper rest, and at low levels you begin to hallucinate.
The jungle has dangers of its own. Caimans, poisonous snakes, leeches, and parasites can wear you down, so you check your limbs in inspection mode and dress open wounds with bandages before they get worse. The story campaign runs more than 25 hours and reveals Jake's dark past, while Endless Mode focuses only on survival. You can also play in co-op with up to four players.

Weapons and Tools
Weapons and tools in Green Hell are mostly crafted by hand from sticks, stones, bones and rope, with metal versions made from mined iron. They cover chopping wood, mining ore, hunting, fishing, fighting and lighting dark places. The strongest options, like the War Club and Modern Axe, come from a challenge reward or a special find instead of crafting.
Animals
Green Hell's Amazon jungle is home to mammals, reptiles, fish, birds, amphibians and insects, and each one plays a different part in your survival. Jaguars, pumas, black caimans and piranhas are the animals to treat with the most care, while poison dart frogs should be left alone. Capybaras, tapirs and peccaries can be tamed with a blowpipe and kept in pens, and armadillos and giant anteaters can be bred in them.
Plants
Plants are a core part of staying alive in Green Hell. They supply food such as cassava, bananas and Brazil nuts, along with herbs like tobacco and plantain lily that treat venom. Some mushrooms help clear parasites and bring down fever, and Psychotria and Banisteriopsis are the Ayahuasca ingredients in Story mode.
Shelters, Stations and Traps
Shelters, food and water stations, and traps are the everyday tools of survival in Green Hell. Shelters let you save your progress and, in many cases, sleep. Food and water stations help you keep meat from spoiling and make water safe to drink, while traps catch animals and fish when you're away. Many of them need a blueprint found while exploring before you can build them.
Bandages
Bandages are the game's main tool for treating cuts, scratches, rashes and venom. The basic Leaf Bandage is made from one Molineria leaf and stops bleeding, while each dressing adds a second ingredient for extra effects. Each dressing suits certain wounds, so it pays to carry the right one.

Green Hell gameplay tips
- Build a basic shelter early and sleep in it. Sleeping on bare ground can bring skin worms and lowers your sanity, while a shelter gives you a safe place to rest and cook. Skip fancy designs at first, since a simple base is all you need to start and you can upgrade it later.
- Catch rain in coconut halves and boil any other water. Rainwater collected in coconut halves is safe to drink, but dirty water can carry parasites and disease. Coconuts are useful for this too, since they give you both water and fat.
- Eat a mix of foods and carry only what you'll eat soon. Hunger has three parts: carbs from bananas, fats from nuts, and protein from cooked meat, so a mix keeps all three filled. Carried food spoils, and expired food causes food poisoning.
- Check your body when the inspection icon appears. Leeches lower your sanity for as long as they stay attached, so inspect your limbs and remove any you find. Keep bandages on you at all times so you can dress cuts and scrapes right away.
