Face an army of a thousand in Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered, an action series set in the Three Kingdoms era of China. You pick a famous general, called an officer, and push through a huge battlefield full of enemy soldiers, cutting your own path through the chaos. The game came out on October 1, 2026.
Each battle has a main objective, and you work toward it while fighting across the field. Normal attacks clear groups of soldiers and build combos, charge attacks hit tougher enemies, and the Musou attack is a powerful special move for big crowds. Enemy officers are the real threat, since they can make a fight chaotic quickly, but defeating one drops weapons, items, or stat boosts, so it's worth the risk.
Musou Mode is the main attraction, and each officer gets their own story of linked battles that get harder as you go. Battles build up that officer's stats, and finishing stories unlocks more officers for Free Mode, where you can replay any unlocked battle with any unlocked officer. Xtreme Legends adds extra stories for seven officers, including Lu Bu, Meng Huo, and Yuan Shao. You can also play offline split-screen co-op with a friend.

Officers
Playable officers are the generals you control in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, split between the Wei, Wu and Shu kingdoms and an Other group of unaligned figures. You start with three from each kingdom and unlock the rest by clearing Musou Mode stories or completing specific battle events. Each officer has their own weapon type and grows stronger as you play.
Fourth Weapons
Fourth weapons are higher-level weapons, each tied to a single officer, in Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered. Each one has fixed stats and usually an element. You earn it by meeting a set condition in one battle, on one side, on Hard difficulty or higher.
Fifth Weapons
Fifth weapons are the top unique weapons in Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered, and each one belongs to a single officer. Each is earned on Chaos, the game's top difficulty, by meeting a set condition in a specific battle on the right side and stage version. Every fifth weapon has an element and a base attack value, and the Death-element weapons are especially useful on Chaos.
Dynasty Warriors 3 gameplay tips
- Keep your eye on the objective. Chasing every soldier you see pulls you away from the goal and leaves your allies exposed.
- Dodge at the right moment. A normal dodge helps you escape when you're surrounded, but a dodge timed to the enemy's attack, called Just Evasion, sets up a strong counterattack.
- Time your block for Perfect Power Guard. A block that lands at the right moment becomes a Perfect Power Guard, which gives you a clear opening for a counterattack.
- Fuse your spare weapons at Camp. Fusion moves the elemental effects and skills from a spare weapon onto your main one, so the useful parts carry over.
- Build officers in Free Mode. Free Mode lets you pick any unlocked officer and battle, and the items, equipment and weapons you collect there carry over to your other modes.
