Rarity is the quickest read on a seed
The rarity band is a shortcut for how strong a seed is. As you climb from Common to Celestial, base income jumps hard, but so does the price and the roll odds. Early crops are cheap and grow in seconds, which is great when you are still building Cash. The rare bands trade patience and a much bigger spend for payouts that dwarf anything below them.
Match the seed to your ring slot
A fast cheap seed wins when you can stand there and harvest it over and over. A slow high-income seed wins when you want it ticking away on an outer ring while you do other things. Watch grow time next to income: a crop that grows in a few seconds can out-earn a slow one if you keep harvesting it, so the best pick depends on how active you are and which ring zones you have unlocked. Some crops never show up in the seed roll at all and only come from events, packs, or special machines, so plan around how you actually get them.
The peak crop. It sits above every other band with the highest income, and getting it is a long-term goal in itself.
The rarest tier you will chase for most of the game. Payouts are enormous and the roll odds are some of the longest in the game.

Does a rarer seed always earn more?
Higher rarity bands have much bigger base income, so rarer seeds pay more per harvest. The trade-off is a higher cost, longer grow time, and worse roll odds.
Should I use fast cheap seeds or slow expensive ones?
Fast cheap seeds win when you can keep harvesting them by hand, since many quick harvests add up. Slow high-income seeds win when you want them earning on their own on an outer ring while you are busy elsewhere.
Why can't I find some seeds in the seed roll?
