All 7 Gear in Build a Base and Steal

Updated on (1 day ago)

Gear is what you hold to break into other bases, knock raiders, and move faster while you steal pets. In Build a Base and Steal, most of it comes from the gear shop at your base: bats for combat and wall-breaking, coils for speed and jump height. A few tools sit outside that cash shop, including Robux pack gear and a fishing rod that is not for raids.

Melee weapons

3 items

Held bats for defense and raids. Use them to knock players, chase thieves, and break into bases. Shop tiers climb from a starter wooden bat toward Steel and Cobalt; public sources do not list damage or cash prices, so trust the live shop order and tooltip over any third-party number.

Wooden Bat

Starter-tier bat for early defense and first raids. Tutorial and beginner guides treat buying a bat as the first combat gear step.

Mobility coils

3 items

Held coils that change how you move while raiding or escaping. Speed helps horizontal chases, Gravity raises jump height for tall walls, and Dual Coil is permanent pack gear when you have it. Some coils may need rebirths before they show as buyable.

What gear is for

The official loop is simple: build walls to protect pets, then use gear to destroy and enter someone else's base and take pets home. Bats are your active fight tools. Coils change how you cross the map so tall walls and long chases do not end the steal.

This is not Steal a Brainrot. Same-style base-steal vibe, different creator (replayable fun games) and a different shop roster, so do not copy slap or coil advice from that game.

Bats first, then coils

Early on, the tutorial and beginner play push you to buy a bat so you can fight off intruders. The wooden (or starter) bat is that first step: enough to knock players, chase thieves, and start breaking weak walls. As the gear shop unlocks higher bats, Steel and Cobalt sit later in the shop list. Creators often set auto-buy on the newest bat they can afford once it appears.

Public sources do not publish damage numbers, cash prices, or hit timing. Treat later bats as stronger shop tiers from live play, not as a fixed DPS chart. Check the live tooltip after updates before you spend big.

Mobility when walls get tall

  • Speed Coil: Held coil for horizontal speed. Buy it when you start raiding or defending seriously so chases and escapes feel less like walking in mud.
  • Gravity Coil: Jump height high enough to clear multi-block walls that normal jumps cannot. Several creators link it to rebirth progression; treat that gate as reported until your shop tooltip agrees.
  • Dual Coil: Named permanent dual-coil gear in the Insane Pack (Robux). The pack has been off sale in the catalog, so treat it as pack-tied permanent gear, not a guaranteed cash-shop purchase. Exact speed and jump values are not published.

Coils do not replace bats. A fast run into a closed base still needs something that hits walls and players. Pair a bat with the coil that matches the job: speed for open chases, gravity for tall entrances, dual when you have that permanent option.

Fishing gear is not raid gear

Void Rod is a Robux gamepass rod with 36x fishing luck on the official pass text. It is held gear in the broad sense, but it does not break bases or open raid routes. Buy it only if you care about fishing luck, not because you need a wall-breaker.

Easy mix-ups

Do not confuse the Bat pet (an income or collection pet) with the bat weapons in the gear shop. Same word, totally different systems.

Do not invent a full shop checklist from memory. The live gear shop can gain more tools after updates, and cash costs are not published in a stable public table. Open the shop in your session for current prices, rebirth locks, and any new rows.

Practical buy order

  1. Get a starter bat so you can defend and open weak bases.
  2. Add a Speed Coil when you start stealing or chasing often.
  3. Unlock Gravity Coil when tall walls block your jumps (and after any rebirth requirement your shop shows).
  4. Step up bat tiers (Steel, then Cobalt) as the shop makes them available.
  5. Treat Dual Coil and Void Rod as separate Robux choices, not part of the cash bat ladder.

FAQ

Q.

Where do you buy gear in Build a Base and Steal?

Most bats and coils come from the gear shop at your base. Dual Coil is tied to the Insane Pack (Robux), and Void Rod is a separate Robux gamepass. Always open the live shop for what is listed that session.

Q.

What is the difference between bats and coils?

Bats are melee weapons for fighting players and breaking into bases. Coils only change movement: speed, jump height, or both. You usually want both jobs covered for real raids.

Q.

Is Void Rod good for raiding bases?

No. Void Rod is a fishing rod with 36x fishing luck from its Robux pass description. It does not destroy walls or open bases. Use bats and coils for raids.

Q.

Does Gravity Coil need rebirths?

Gameplay coverage often treats Gravity Coil as rebirth-gated so you can jump multi-block walls. Confirm on your live shop tooltip, because gates can change with updates.

Q.

Is the Bat pet the same as a bat weapon?

No. A pet named Bat is a pet, not gear. Bat weapons (Wooden, Steel, Cobalt) are held tools from the gear shop used to fight and raid.

Q.

Can you still get Dual Coil if the Insane Pack is not for sale?

The official pack text lists permanent Dual Coil gear, but the pack has been off sale in the catalog. Owners keep pack gear; new buyers need the pack to return or another in-game path if the shop adds one.
