Golden, Cosmic, Inferno, and Admin are the four pet mutations in Build a Base and Steal, and each one multiplies both passive cash income and sale value on a single pet. One tagged pet can out-earn a whole row of plain rolls, which is also why raiders treat them like walking jackpots.
Every pet holds one mutation at a time. The multiplier sits on top of that pet's base rarity earnings. You cannot stack two mutations on the same pet. When you pick what to keep, display, or defend, higher tiers always win.

Mutations change both passive earning rate and sale value. Offline income still runs on whatever pets you leave on display, so losing a high multiplier hurts even when you are logged out.

Golden and Cosmic show up on rolls, while Inferno and Admin usually need live events
Most players first see mutations at the Egg Mystery platform on their own base. Pet Rolls there can land Golden pets often enough to notice, and Cosmic can appear from the same station too, just less often.
Inferno and Admin sit at the top of the table and usually arrive through short live events instead of everyday rolling.
Inferno: Volcano-themed Update + Event windows are the main path. Community guides often call these Volcano events.
Admin: Admin Abuse-themed events. This is the strongest multiplier in the current set for most players who are not stealing one from someone else.
Cosmic from events: Cosmic-themed event windows can also boost Cosmic-tier pets beyond normal roll luck.
Mutations arrived with the July 2026 Weathers + Mutations update wave and keep showing up in themed Update + Event sessions. Those windows are often short, around an hour, and the Roblox experience page does not publish a fixed weekly calendar for them. Many players watch the game's Discord or community alerts so they can jump in when Volcano or Admin themes go live.
Before an event opens, save cash for extra rolls or purchases, join early while themed spawns are active, and move new mutated pets into a defended lane before a visitor treats your base like a clearance sale.
Stealing is always part of the loop in Build a Base and Steal. A raider who breaks through your maze can walk out with your Inferno earner, and you can do the same on offense. Bat and weapon gear from the gear collection helps on both sides of that fight.
Protect your best multipliers and stack luck before you roll
A 3x or 4x pet printing offline cash is worth more than selling a Golden you rolled ten minutes ago. Keep top multipliers on display, bury them deep in layered walls and twists, and rebuild outer lanes after a raid instead of leaving a straight path to your best slot.
On the progression side, rebirth and Pet Luck upgrades improve your odds before you burn cash on batch rolls. Stack luck when you are hunting Cosmic or trying to squeeze value out of an event window, then roll in bursts instead of one-off spins.
When you sell, remember the mutation hits sale price too. A mid-rarity Admin pet can still outsell a higher base pet with no tag, so compare multiplied value before you clear inventory space.
