Gears are separate tools, so they don't replace your hammer. The hammer is still what breaks eggs, and its Power decides how tough an egg it can crack. A gear is something you switch to for one job, like moving faster or keeping a rival off your egg.
How to Unlock and Buy Gears in Break a Brainrot Egg
Gears are sold in the Gears shop, but the shop only opens after your first rebirth. Rebirthing needs a set amount of Cash plus certain Brainrots. It also resets your Cash and any hammers you bought with Cash, so you'll be building back up after each one.
Each rebirth gives you more base slots and Cash multipliers, and some of them open new rows in the Gears shop. Not every rebirth adds gears, so check the shop after each one.
