In Anime Adventures, a Roblox tower defense game, you collect anime characters as units. Enemies walk a set path toward the exit, and your job is to place your units so they stop each wave before it gets through. Attacking units hit the enemies that move into their range, so where you place them matters as much as which unit you pick.
Matches are played on maps, and during one you earn Yen by defeating enemies, clearing waves, and running farm units. You spend that Yen while the fight is happening, placing new units and upgrading the ones you have. The better your defense kills enemies, the more Yen comes in, so a strong start pays off. Some modes match you with random players, and you can also play with friends.
The longer goal is a strong roster, and you build it by summoning new units with Gems, which you earn from story progress, quests, and raids. You make each unit stronger by upgrading it, evolving it with materials, and rerolling its traits to change how it fights, and you can feed it XP food, an item that gives experience only to units below max level. Gold buys items in the shop and pays for crafting evolve items, while Trophies buy many emotes, the in-game dances and movements your character can perform. Infinite mode opens once you clear the story content tied to it, and it sends endless waves for players who want to keep going.

Units:
Units are the characters you place on the map to fight waves of enemies in Anime Adventures. Each one has a role, such as damage, support, control, economy or summoning, and a placement type of ground or hill. Hybrid units can hit both ground and flying enemies, and you get units through summons, Secret Portals, drops and events.
Traits:
Traits are bonuses attached to individual units in Anime Adventures that change how a unit hits, reaches, attacks or earns Yen. Some units come with a trait when summoned, and any unit's trait can be rerolled at the reroll NPC outside the Evolve area in the lobby. Rerolls cost Reroll Tokens or Star Remnants, and Star Remnant cost scales with unit rarity. Unique gives the biggest damage boost, and each player can place only one copy of a given Unique unit.
Worlds:
Story mode in Anime Adventures is a chain of worlds that you play in order, starting with Planet Greenie. Each world is split into numbered acts and has its own enemies, bosses and XP food. Clearing a world's acts unlocks its Infinite mode, and a world with a matching Legend Stage opens it after its sixth act. Virtual Dungeon and Dungeon Throne are Story worlds, while the random Dungeon mode sits outside the Story route.
Relics:
Relics are items you equip on units to boost stats such as physical damage, penetration, and critical hit chance, and some also add passive abilities. Golden King, the lobby NPC in the relic area, handles crafting, and recipes use gold along with materials such as Relic Shards, Steel Ingots, Empty Tomes, Tears, or Demonic Spellbooks. Only units rarer than Epic can equip them, and each Unique relic can appear only once per team.
Items:
Items in Anime Adventures are the XP items, materials, Dungeon keys, Stat Cubes and boosts that help your units grow. XP items level units up, materials evolve and craft them, and Stat Cubes reroll their base stats. Dungeon keys open the random Dungeon mode, and the Divine Wish powers Limit Break for a damage boost while the Limit-Broken unit is equipped. You earn items through play, the daily challenge and shops.
Portals:
Portals are items kept in the Portals tab of your inventory, and opening one takes you into a separate stage with its own rewards. Opening a portal can return more portals of the same type, so one run can lead straight into the next. They come from Infinite mode drops, limited stores, Contracts that earn Death Dice for crafting secret portals, and slight chances from clearing related portals. Secret portals are the rarest, and many older ones are no longer obtainable.
Evolution Items:
Evolution items are the special materials players use to evolve units in Anime Adventures. Each evolution has its own recipe, which can include unit-specific items, Star Fruit, other materials, and a takedown requirement. Items come from crafting, the Traveling Merchant, and drops from story modes and raids, and Mythic, Legendary, and Secret units can all evolve.
Skins:
Skins are alternate outfits for individual units in Anime Adventures, and each one is made for its matching unit. They come from limited capsules such as the Haunted, Spooky, Frozen, Summer, Icy Star and Demon Academy Stars, each tied to an event and bought with that event's currency. Summer skins can raise damage and drops during the summer event. To equip one, unequip the unit first, then choose the skin under Items and the Skins tab.
Collectibles
Titles:
Titles are short labels that show above a player's head in Anime Adventures, and each one marks a specific achievement. They come from event goals, unit collections, leaderboard placements in the Tournament, Infinite and Infinity Castle modes, official Discord roles and early play history. The OG title depends on having played before the re-release.
AA Gameplay Tips
- Clear the story to unlock Infinite mode. Infinite mode stays locked until you finish the story content tied to it, so your early runs are the way in. Story progress also pays out Gems, so the stages you clear build up your summon budget at the same time.
- Check each unit's Evolve recipe before you farm. Recipes are set per unit, so one unit can need a different Star Fruit color or item than the next. That way you only farm what that unit needs instead of gathering materials that don't apply.
- Choose traits that fit the unit's job. Superior suits units you rely on for damage, Range helps units that need to reach farther, and Golden suits dedicated farm units because it boosts their Yen income. Decide what the unit is for first, then stop rerolling once it has a trait that does that job well.
- Spend Yen in the match and save Gems for summons. Yen is the money you earn during a stage, and you use it to place and upgrade units while the fight is on. Gems are a separate currency that's mainly used on summon banners to get new units. Keep them for summons instead of treating them like in-match money.
- Save rare materials for your strongest damage dealer. Rare materials are limited, so each one should go to the unit that does the most work for your team. Spread them across weaker units and you'll run short when your main unit is ready to evolve.
