Emotes are the dances, gestures, and expressions you trigger on demand, forming the social layer of the avatar. A good emote is visible to everyone around you in-game, which makes this slot the most public thing you can buy.
Search the emote selection with search, price sorting, and creator filters, from viral dances to subtle gestures.
Movement styles are a different item type: see animation packs for how your avatar walks and idles. Free emotes exist too, in the free pool.

What is an emote?
An emote is an owned animation you play manually: dances, waves, celebrations, sit-downs, and meme gestures. Unlike animation packs, which change your automatic movement, emotes fire when you choose, from the emote menu or chat.
Buying and equipping emotes
- Open the emote's card to reach its Roblox page and press Buy or Get.
- In the Avatar Editor, open the emotes section and assign it to a slot on your emote wheel.
- In-game, open the menu, pick Emotes, and play it, or type
/eplus the emote name where chat commands work.
The wheel holds a limited set (currently eight), but ownership is permanent. Rotate your equipped emotes as often as you like.
Shopping tips
- Buy what you'll actually trigger. The best emote is the one that fits your default reaction: a wave, a laugh, a celebration.
- Viral dances headline the category. Sort by popular for the emotes you've seen in every server.
- Games can restrict emotes. Experiences may disable the emote menu; your emotes work everywhere it's allowed.
FAQ
How do I use an emote in a game?
Equip it to your emote wheel in the Avatar Editor first, then open the in-game menu, choose Emotes, and play it, or use the /e chat command where supported.
How many emotes can I equip?
The wheel currently holds eight. Everything you own stays in your inventory permanently, so you can swap equipped emotes any time.
What's the difference between an emote and an animation pack?
Emotes are triggered manually, like dances and gestures. Animation packs replace your automatic movements like walking and idling.
Why don't my emotes work in a certain game?
That experience disabled the emote menu. The emotes still work in games that allow them.
Are there free emotes?
Yes. Free emotes appear through promotions and events, collected in the free avatar animations pool.
