How to get every The Deep rod in Fisch

Updated on August 11, 2026 (less than a minute ago)

There is no single item named The Deep Rod in Fisch. Version 1.96 (The Deep update) adds four fishing rods: Luminous Rod, Scalding Hook, Titanium Rod, and Cusk Purger.

None of these is Rod Of The Depths. That older rod sits in The Depths, not this zone, and it uses a totally different unlock.

You need The Deep first (Outer Deep, Lower Deep, and nearby pockets). Follow how to enter The Deep in Fisch for the sail, ship, and dive. Once you are under, two rods come from NPC questlines and two craft at the Ancient Archives anvil.

How to get every The Deep rod in Fisch

Quest rods from Deep NPCs

These two skip the crafting table. Finish the right NPC chain and the rod drops as a reward.

Luminous Rod

Talk to Dr. Vane in the Outer Deep and work through that questline in order. The rod is a late reward partway through the chain, so keep completing steps. You do not craft it.

StatValue
Lure Speed70%
Luck95%
Control0.1
Resilience25%
Max Kg60,000 kg
Line Distance40 m

Mutations carry this rod: about 10% Bioluminescent (4× value) and 30% Luminous (9× value), plus +10 Progress Speed. Base power is modest. Treat it as a mutation farm and as 2,000 Rod Journal XP toward The Deep, not your forever endgame stick.

It is not a craft part for Masterline Rod. Masterline still unlocks from full bestiary and rod journal rules, not a Deep anvil recipe.

Scalding Hook

This rod comes from a Lower Deep quest chain after you finish that NPC's full sequence. Many players see the giver labeled Fester of the Deep; some update notes list Versper of the Deep. Use the name on your quest UI and clear every step they offer.

Confirm these guide-listed stats on your rod panel after unlock:

StatValue
Lure Speed82%
Luck180%
Control0.12
Resilience30%
Max Kg400,000 kg

It can apply Scalded, ramps progress speed over time, and can hook ghost-type fish as an extra catch. The 400,000 kg cap is the real limit: strong for heavy progress fights, still short of true infinite-weight targets.

Crafted rods at the Ancient Archives

Titanium Rod and Cusk Purger use the Crafting Anvil in the Ancient Archives (the usual Moosewood path). Bring materials, C$, and the level gate when one applies. If a patch changes a quantity, trust the in-game recipe over any written list.

Titanium Rod

Requires Level 250, then these parts at the anvil:

MaterialAmountWhere it comes from
Titanium Shaft1Sledge questline in The Deep (one step asks for three large-or-bigger Devil Scorpionfish in the Lower Deep at night in clear weather)
Titanium Reel1Deep quest progress (exact handoff can vary by step)
Refined Scrap5Outer Deep drops; about a 10% chance from Crushed Diving Helmet is commonly reported
C$200,000General play

Finished numbers: Lure 100%, Luck 180%, Control 0.3, Resilience 75%, Max Kg infinite, Durability 200, Line 120 m. Ability package: 20% Titanium mutation (9×), a 35% slash every 0.5 s for 5% progress and a 0.15 s stun, and +30% Progress Speed.

Wide control plus infinite weight make this the calm AFK pick among the four. For enchant options in general, see all Fisch enchantments. Some players favor Heron here to stretch control further; treat that as preference until official best-enchant notes catch up.

Cusk Purger

This is the long farm of the set. Guides usually list 750,000 C$ at the Ancient Archives anvil. A few players mention a Deep craft station instead. Open the recipe you can actually see and build from that.

MaterialTypical amountFarm notes
Monstrous Cusk Tooth3Harpoon Monstrous Cusk in the Lower Deep / Monstrous Cusk Hunt; usually one tooth per catch. Not the same as the older Cusk Eel route.
Abyssal Bio-Fluid3Often around a 20% chance from Luminous Hake in the Outer Deep
Radiant Prism ScaleCheck recipeCounts conflict in community lists, so check the craft recipe for the exact count before you stop farming
Line of the Deep1Cartographer questline (Faceless Cusk, Outer Deep bestiary steps, scale turn-ins)
Hardened Chitin3Rare Outer Deep fishing drop (sometimes quoted near 1 in 40)
Refined Scrap3Outer Deep drops
Ancient Bone3Farmed in The Deep; bag them as you explore rather than hunting one fixed pin
C$750,000General play

Guide-listed performance: Lure 88%, Luck 225%, Control -0.05, Resilience 25%, Max Kg infinite, about +40% Progress Speed, roughly 7 Disturbance, and a Monstrous mutation near sell value. High luck and disturbance pay out if you can live with the narrow control bar. Solar Eclipse and other high-disturbance setups can help spawn Monstrous Cusk while you farm teeth, but you still need clean harpoon hits.

Which Deep rod to chase first

Luminous RodDr. Vane (Outer Deep)95%60,000
Scalding HookLower Deep quest NPC180%400,000
Titanium RodCraft, Level 250180%Infinite
Cusk PurgerCraft, heavy materials225%Infinite

Grab Luminous first. It is only Outer Deep quests. Pick up Scalding Hook while you are already in the Lower Deep for other work. Craft Titanium when you hit Level 250 and finish Sledge, scrap, and reel. Save Cusk Purger for last once teeth, Line of the Deep, and the rest of the anvil list are done. Titanium is the best everyday rod of the four for most players; Cusk is the high-luck money stick if you can handle the thin control bar.

If you want other non-Deep sticks while you grind, the Cryolash and Lullaby paths still sit outside this zone. Free C$ from Fisch codes softens the Archives bills before you hit craft.

FAQ

Q.

Is there a rod called The Deep Rod in Fisch?

No. The Deep update adds four rods: Luminous Rod, Scalding Hook, Titanium Rod, and Cusk Purger. Rod Of The Depths is a different, older rod from The Depths.

Q.

Do I need to enter The Deep before these rods?

Yes. Quest rods start in Outer Deep and Lower Deep, and craft materials also come from those zones. Enter The Deep first, then chase the rods.

Q.

Which The Deep rod should I get first?

Start with Luminous Rod from Dr. Vane in the Outer Deep. Pick up Scalding Hook while doing Lower Deep quests. Craft Titanium at Level 250 for the strongest everyday rod of the four, then farm Cusk Purger last.

Q.

Is Titanium Rod better than Cusk Purger?

They fill different niches. Titanium has wide control, strong slash progress, and easy AFK use. Cusk Purger has higher luck and disturbance with a narrow control bar, so it rewards skilled reeling and money farming more than relaxed grinding.
