Fisch potions are temporary boosts that make your fishing better, from higher odds on rare fish to duplicated catches. You can get them from the Personal Aquarium, daily rewards, challenges, a few quests and shops, and the Shady Alchemist, and each one lasts for a set amount of time. Brewing potions at a cauldron has been removed from the game, so you can't make them yourself anymore.

Getting Potions from the Personal Aquarium in Fisch
The Personal Aquarium doesn't depend on a quest or an event, but it has one requirement: you need to be level 25 before you can place fish in it. Once it's set up, it keeps paying out while you fish:
- Open the Aquariums menu.
- Add fish to its display.
- Let it run and collect the hourly rewards, which include coins, XP, and potions.
Every potion type can drop from the aquarium, but only at Tier 1. Tier 2 and Tier 3 potions come from challenges, quests, and upgrades at the Shady Alchemist instead.

Daily Rewards, Challenges, and Quests That Drop Potions
The daily reward runs on a seven-day cycle, and both a Luck Potion and a Glitched Potion are part of it. Challenges also reward potions, and apart from the Shady Alchemist, they're one of the few ways to get Tier 2 and Tier 3 potions. Weekly challenges give items based on how hard they are, so they're worth checking each week.
Some quests and shops are worth knowing about too:
- Friend Quest: Tier 3 Luck Potion
- Angler Quest, Black Market, and Bloop Cosmetic Crate: Tier 1 Glitched Potion
Upgrading Potions at the Shady Alchemist
The Shady Alchemist is an NPC you'll find inside the Shady Bazaar, across from the Hunting Angler. It upgrades Luck, Lure Speed, and Glitched potions to higher tiers. Each upgrade uses a set number of lower-tier potions of the same type, plus a set amount of Shady Scrip (S$), the Bazaar's currency. All Season potions can't be upgraded.
| Upgrade | Lower-tier potions needed | Shady Scrip (S$) |
|---|---|---|
| Luck Tier 2 | 3 Tier 1 Luck | 2 |
| Luck Tier 3 | 3 Tier 2 Luck | 20 |
| Lure Speed Tier 2 | 3 Tier 1 Lure Speed | 3 |
| Lure Speed Tier 3 | 3 Tier 2 Lure Speed | 30 |
| Glitched Tier 2 | 9 Tier 1 Glitched | 10 |
| Glitched Tier 3 | 5 Tier 2 Glitched | 100 |
This is the only source for Tier 3 Lure Speed, so if you want the strongest lure boost, you'll need to visit. Since the aquarium only drops Tier 1, the Alchemist is also how you build toward the top tiers of the other potions.
How to Use a Potion in Fisch
- Move the potion onto a hotbar slot.
- Select it and press left-click (LMB) to use it.
- Check the bottom-left of the screen, where the active buff appears.
Each click uses one potion. Potions last anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 hours, so it's worth saving them for a session when you'll be fishing the whole time.
What Each Fisch Potion Does and When to Use It
- Luck: Raises your odds of catching rarer fish. Tier 3 gives 2x base Luck, the highest multiplier of the three tiers, so it's the one to use for a long session when rare catches are the goal.
- Lure Speed: Shortens the wait before a fish bites, so you can fish more in the same time. It's a good pick if you care about how many fish you catch more than how rare they are.
- Glitched: Gives a chance to create a duplicate of a caught fish with the Glitched attribute. The chance rises with each tier, from 50% at Tier 1 to 100% at Tier 3.
- All Season: Removes the luck penalty on fish caught outside their preferred season for 3 hours. It also gives +20% Lure Speed for 2 hours. That's a separate effect with its own timer, so the season effect and the lure boost each run on their own clock. The 3-hour season effect makes it the one to use for an off-season fishing session, and the lure boost is a bonus on top.
