The Doomsekkar Rod takes three tasks from Doomsekkar on Caustic Hallow: catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools, land 50 Perfect Catches in a row, and catch one ghost from a haunted house. The 50-catch streak is the part that trips people up, because a single miss sends it back to zero.
The rod comes from FischFright 3, which launched October 17, 2026. The end date isn't known yet, so don't wait on it. Don't mix this up with the Dusekkar Rod from older guides. Those cover a different rod from an earlier event, so their steps won't match this quest.
How to Find Doomsekkar in Fisch
Doomsekkar waits in the Caustic Hallow area of the FischFright 3 island. The route starts at Moosewood Dock, and you need his quest accepted before you fish, or the tracker won't count your catches.

- Go to Moosewood Dock and board the Haunted Ship, which is the Flying Dutchman. Talk to Captain Jack.
- Pick the travel option that sends you to Caustic Hallow. It may read “I want to Travel” or “Set sail!”, so go by the destination, not the wording.
- When you reach Caustic Hallow, the Candy Bucket is added to your inventory. Check for it now, because the haunted house task needs it.
- Find Doomsekkar by the graveyard, along the path near Webridden Cavern. He's near (-14988, 146, -9663).
- Talk to him and accept “FischFright 2026: Doomsekkar.” Three counters appear in your tracker at zero. Confirm they're there before you start fishing.
Doomsekkar Rod Quest Requirements
Three objectives sit in your tracker. Two of them are fishing goals you can work at the same time.
| Objective | Target | What counts |
|---|---|---|
| Frightful Pool fish | 100 fish | Any fish caught in an active Frightful Pool. Progress carries over between pools. |
| Perfect Catch streak | 50 in a row | Perfect Catches made in Frightful Pools, back to back. One miss resets the streak. |
| Haunted House spirit | 1 ghost | Catching the ghost at the house named in the haunted alert. |
The ghost challenge is separate from the pools, so it gets its own section below.
Catch 100 Fish and 50 Perfect Catches in Frightful Pools
Frightful Pools are temporary fishing spots that can spawn anywhere in the ocean. An active pool glows green, and global chat announces when one spawns. Named variants like Grim, Vile, Doomed, and Eldritch all count.

Each Perfect Catch you land in a pool also counts toward the 100 fish, so one good run can push both counters. The streak is the harder half. A miss resets it, and the pool's control penalty makes it harder to keep going, so start the run with a rod you can control reliably. The 50 have to come back to back, so a few here and there won't add up.
Don't want to wait for a pool to spawn? The Flying Dutchman Merchant sells a Frightful Pool Totem that summons one. Check the merchant's displayed price before you buy it.
Fight the Haunted House Spirit
Watch for a notification that a house “feels haunted.” Its number and sign glow green, so that's the door to visit.

- Equip the Candy Bucket.
- Knock on the door to trick or treat, then choose any dialogue option.
- When “CATCH THE GHOST!” starts, keep the spotlight on the moving ghost until the meter fills.
- If the ghost escapes, try another haunted house, or wait for that house's cooldown, which runs about eight minutes.
A successful catch sends you to a spirit area and gives you an Ethereal Rose, and the tracker reads 1/1. To get back to Caustic Hallow, fish in the green whirlpool in that area or use the Magic Mirror.
Claim the Doomsekkar Rod
When the tracker reads 100/100, 50/50, and 1/1, go back to Doomsekkar and talk to him again. The rod appears in your Fishing Rods inventory. The turn-in also pays 3,000 Treats, 20,000 quest XP, and 5,000 Rod Journal XP.
Doomsekkar Rod Stats, Bombs and Mutation
These are the numbers to expect. Event builds can differ, so if your Fishing Rods screen shows something else, trust the screen.
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 100% |
| Luck | 275% |
| Control | 0.1 |
| Resilience | -666% |
| Max KG | Infinite |
| Line Distance | 100 m |
Luck at 275% and the infinite Max KG are the headline numbers. The rod's Rod Journal entry is Limited and worth 5,000 XP.
The rod also drops pumpkin bombs onto the reeling bar. Each bomb that detonates adds catch progress. The exact gain varies, so treat bombs as a boost, not a set amount.
The Doomsekkar mutation is worth about 8x the value of a regular fish. The rod's base tooltip lists +10% Doomsekkar Mutation Chance, and bombs can push your odds higher. Don't count on a fixed overall rate.
Keep the Ethereal Rose for the Cemetery ritual chain, since that's where it's used. To compare the rod with your other options, the Fisch Rods page is the place to start.
