The Pumpkin Reaper is the boss inside the Halloween Rift in Steal Animal Egg, and anyone on the server can jump in. The fight is mostly about moving: stay out of the boss's area attacks while you keep a turret alive against waves of minions.
How to Find the Halloween Rift in Steal Animal Egg
The Halloween Rift and the Glitch Rift take turns every 30 minutes, and each one starts at :00 or :30 past the hour. A Halloween Rift can spawn in any Steal Animal Egg zone. When one does, every player on the server gets a notification that reads "A Halloween Rift spawned inside [zone name]."

The portal has a JOIN NOW countdown above it. How long the portal stays open isn't confirmed, so move as soon as the alert shows up. Step into the portal and it teleports you straight to the boss arena.
How to Survive the Pumpkin Reaper Fight
The Pumpkin Reaper turns hostile the moment you step into the arena, so there's no quiet start. The boss begins with 100,000 HP and gains 40,000 more for each other player in the arena. Trust the health bar over that math, though. The bar has shown a 190,000 total, which the formula can't produce.
A turret stands in the center of the arena and fires at the boss the whole time. The fight has two jobs that overlap: dodge the boss's attacks and keep the turret standing.

Dodging Slams and Scythe Sweeps
Heavy slams and scythe sweeps light up their impact zones on the arena floor before they land, which gives you time to run. Use that warning:
- Watch the floor for lit impact zones.
- Move out of the zone before the attack lands.
- Let the boss finish its attack sequence.
- Hit the boss once the sequence ends.
- Keep moving for the whole fight.
Tracking Attacks and Exploding Pumpkins
Some of the boss's attacks home in on targets and deal massive damage, so don't stand still to line up a hit. The boss also summons pumpkins with a ghostly aura. They explode a few seconds after they appear and deal heavy damage, so don't stand next to one when it goes off.
Protecting the Turret From Minion Waves
The turret keeps shooting the boss, but only while it's standing. The Reaper sends skeletons, pumpkins and other minions to destroy it, so clear those waves throughout the fight.
You can let the turret finish the boss alone. Hitting the boss with your weapon is quicker, though, so pitch in when you can.
Beat the Pumpkin Reaper while the turret is still operational and you earn a special badge. Keep the turret up until the final hit.
Pumpkin Reaper Phase Two and the Moon Attack
The Pumpkin Reaper enters its second phase once its health is halved. It gets more aggressive, launches a flurry of attacks that hit hard, and picks up a few special moves. The Moon attack is the one to plan for, and the fix is quick.

When the Moon attack starts, destroy the objects that appear overhead within a few seconds. If you don't, the attack takes all of your health.
What Candy Coins Buy in Steal Animal Egg
Defeating the Pumpkin Reaper gives you Candy Coins, a special currency. Spend them at the Candy Shop, which sits next to the Trails Shop. It's decorated with pumpkins and has a roof with a purple witch hat design, so look for that.
The Candy Coin payout per win isn't confirmed, so check your balance after each kill before you plan a purchase.
Haunted Egg Odds
A Haunted Egg costs 1,500 Candy Coins and holds five pets. Here are the hatch rates.
| Pet | Hatch rate |
|---|---|
| Smol Bat Kid | 40% |
| Smol Mummy | 28% |
| Smol Skeleton | 18% |
| Smol Little Devil | 10% |
| Smol Pumpkin Reaper | 4% |
Smol Bat Kid and Smol Mummy are the most likely pets. At 4%, the Smol Pumpkin Reaper is the long shot, so don't count on the first egg for it.
Potion Prices
The Candy Shop also sells four potions.
| Potion | Price in Candy Coins |
|---|---|
| x2 Egg Growth | 975 |
| x5 Cash | 825 |
| x5 Speed Gain | 750 |
| x2 Walkspeed | 450 |
You can buy as many Haunted Eggs and potions as your Candy Coins cover, so every win adds to what you can spend.
