Cut a Rock is a mining game on Roblox where you dig through layers of rock, cut what you find open, and sell the materials for Cash. To get going, train at an anvil to build Power, use that Power to break through floors and collect rocks, then cut and sell what you find. Spend the Cash on machine upgrades and stronger pickaxes, and keep collecting new materials to fill your Index.
| Step | What you do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Train | Train at the anvil | Builds the Power you need to break through floors |
| 2. Dig | Break through floors and collect rocks | Deeper floors hold rarer rocks |
| 3. Cut | Cut rocks open at your cutting machine | Reveals the materials inside |
| 4. Sell | Sell your finds | Turns materials into Cash |
| 5. Upgrade | Spend Cash on machines and pickaxes | Faster cutting and stronger pickaxes for deeper floors |
| 6. Collect | Gather new types of materials | Fills your Index toward auras |
Start by Training at the Anvil to Build Power
Your first job in Cut a Rock is building Power, and the anvil is where you do it. Training there is how you gain Power, and Power is what lets you break through the mine's floors. Until you have enough, the deeper layers stay out of reach, so it makes sense to build it up before heading down.
Power also builds while the game is closed. You don't have to stay logged in to gain it, so when you come back, the Power you earned is ready to use.
Break Through Floors and Pick the Right Rocks
The mine is split into multiple layers, and each one takes effort to break through. You use Power to get through each floor, and stronger pickaxes are what let you reach the deeper ones. Rarer rocks sit further down, so pushing deeper is how you find better materials.

Your backpack space is limited, so you can't carry everything you see. Take the rarest rocks first, then fill any spare room with lower-rarity ones.
How Cutting and Selling Works in Cut a Rock
Once you have rocks, take them to the cutting machine at your home base and cut them open. The materials inside are what you sell for Cash, so this is where mining turns into money. Rarer rocks take longer to cut, which can slow your income, so keep a few lower-rarity rocks in the mix to keep Cash coming in.

Your machines keep cutting while you're away, so you come back to progress that was already made.
Upgrade Machines and Pickaxes to Reach Deeper Floors
Cash goes back into the mine in two main ways. Machine upgrades are bought with Cash and made by interacting with the cutting machine itself, and each one shortens how long a rock takes to cut. Pickaxes are also bought with Cash, and stronger ones are what let you reach deeper floors.
Both help you earn more over time. Faster cutting keeps Cash flowing, and deeper floors give you access to the rarest rocks, which bring in more Cash.
Fill Your Cut a Rock Index to Work Toward Auras
Every new type of material you cut open gets recorded in your Index, which works like a logbook. The Index tracks your progress toward powerful auras. Since each new type gets its own entry, finding the same kind of material again won't move it forward, so keep an eye out for ones you haven't logged yet.
