All 79 Fish and Special Catches in WEBFISHING and Where They Live

Updated on November 1, 2026 (3 days ago)

WEBFISHING is a relaxed multiplayer fishing game where you cast a line, reel in whatever bites and sell your catch to pay for better gear. The fish range from the smallest snail to the biggest shark, and they're spread across lakes, rivers, the ocean, rainy weather and special spots like the Void. Players can collect every one and keep track of them in the game.

How Fishing Works in WEBFISHING

You need an equipped rod and bait before you can fish. Hold the left mouse button to charge a cast, and the arrows on the water show where your bobber will land. The game then checks for a bite every few seconds, and the Rod Chance upgrade makes a bite more likely.

When a fish bites, a reeling minigame starts. Hold the left button to fill the catch meter, and watch for yank spots, the numbered bars on the meter. Each click lowers a spot's number by your Rod Power, and once a spot is cleared you can keep filling the meter until the fish is yours. Bigger and higher-quality fish have more yank spots to clear, so they take longer to land.

Freshwater and Saltwater Fish

Most of the fish in the game come from either freshwater or saltwater. Freshwater fish live in lakes, rivers and ponds, and the Well and the Toilet count as freshwater too. You'll find largemouth bass, pike, rainbow trout and sturgeon there, along with frogs, turtles, crayfish and the axolotl.

Saltwater fish come from the ocean, which is the only saltwater zone in the game. That's where you'll find the big names, like the great white shark, hammerhead shark, tuna, marlin and whale, along with octopus, lobster and seahorse.

Rain fish are a smaller group that only shows up while it's raining. They can be caught from either freshwater or saltwater, so you don't need to move to a different spot. Helicoprion, Anomalocaris and the horseshoe crab are all part of this group.

Special Catches From Meteors, the Void and Treasure Chests

Some catches don't fit the usual lakes and ocean. The Unidentified Fish Object only shows up when a meteor lands in the water, so you need that event to catch it. CREATURE is only found in the Void, a separate area you reach through rare Void Portals, and the Void has its own unique fish. Catches like these take the most patience to collect, since they appear so rarely.

The Treasure Chest is another special catch that takes the place of a junk item. Open it to unlock a cosmetic from the General Store.

Junk Items

Junk items are the trash you sometimes reel in instead of a fish. The list includes things like an Old Boot, a Soda Can, a Plastic Bag, a Branch and some Weed, and junk can turn up in either freshwater or saltwater.

Most junk sells for very little, so it's rarely worth chasing for money. A Magnet Lure boosts how often junk shows up, which makes it useful if you want to find more of it.

The Rarest Fish and How to Land Them

Some fish stand out as the hardest to find: Golden Bass, Golden Manta Ray, Leedsichthys and Diamond. Golden Bass is freshwater, Golden Manta Ray is saltwater and Leedsichthys is a rain fish, while Diamond is a junk item that is rare enough to belong with them.

The Golden Hook is the lure to reach for here. When a rare fish is in the mix, the hook favors it, which helps a lot, but it uses extra bait on every cast, so it gets costly fast. Expect a long hunt, since these turn up far less often than almost anything else in the game.

Bait, Quality and Size

Every fish you catch has a quality tier: Normal, Shining, Glistening, Opulent, Radiant or Alpha. The bait on your line decides your chances of each tier, so better bait gives you a better shot at the top ones. Plain worms are the weakest choice, since they only ever give Normal quality.

The higher the quality, the harder the fish is to land, and the rarest tiers need the best bait and a lot of luck. Size varies too, so the same fish can come in different sizes.

Selling Fish and Filling Your Journal

Fishing is the main way to earn money in WEBFISHING, and selling fish is what pays. Each fish has a base sell value, and the final price rises with how rare and how big it is. Quality has the biggest effect, since an Alpha fish is worth far more than a Normal one of the same kind.

The fishing journal lives in your inventory and lists every fish in the game. Fish you haven't caught show up blacked out, so you can see what's still missing. Journal progress is also tracked by quality, so catching every fish at a given tier fills that tier's Journal Full! achievement. The highest tiers take the longest to finish.

FAQ

Q.

What bait gets the best quality fish in WEBFISHING?

Gilded Worm is the strongest pick for the top tiers, with the best chance of Radiant and Alpha catches. Nautilus is a strong second choice and the only other bait that can roll Alpha.

Q.

Does rain help you catch more fish in WEBFISHING?

A little. Rain gives your bite chance a small boost, and it works alongside the Rod Chance upgrade.

Q.

How do I get Gilded Worm bait in WEBFISHING?

You need a license for it, and the license only opens once your camp reaches a higher camp tier. Nautilus works the same way, and the Gilded Worm license is the more expensive of the two.
