Each round, the game picks one player at random to be the killer, and everyone else plays as a survivor. Rounds take place on one of several maps, and each map has its own hiding spots and routes out.
Survivors work together to hide from the killer, save teammates who get knocked down, and reach an exit before time runs out. The killer's goal is to knock out as many players as possible before they escape or the clock hits zero. Near the end of a round, the exits open for an escape window, so survivors have to move fast before the round ends.
Playing rounds earns Coins, which you spend in the shop on knives, killers, crates, and cabins. Crates give random items, and cabins are lobby homes where you display your favorite knives and killers. Survivors can also pick up loot around the map for Coins. Gems are a second currency that is harder to earn, and you can also buy them with Robux. Because most progress is cosmetic, much of the fun comes from building a collection you like and trading with other players.

Game data
Killers:
Killers are skins that change how the killer looks in Survive the Killer, and each one has its own design. Players start with some, unlock others through level rewards, or buy them with coins or gems, in bundles, or with toy codes from certain Roblox figures. Limited killers from past events and sales are harder to find, and whether a killer can be traded depends on the killer itself.
Knives:
Knives are the blades the Killer carries in Survive the Killer, and each one has its own look. Some also differ in stats such as range, and those stats can change with updates. Players get knives from the in-game shop, prize crates, limited events and crafting, and they can trade them with each other.
Crafting Recipes:
Crafting recipes let players combine two or more knives they already own into a new knife at the Crafting Table in the lobby. Each recipe has to be unlocked first, through levels, map finds, shop consumables or codes, and its ingredients are gathered separately from crates, the shop, quests and crafting. Recipes come in tiers such as Rare, Legendary, Immortal and Spectrum.
Crates:
Crates are sealed boxes in Survive the Killer that each hold a set of knives, and opening one gives you a single knife picked at random. Each crate sets its own mix of tiers. Shop crates stay available all the time and can be bought with coins or gems, while historical crates came out during past events. A hidden Underground Market also sells its own crate, the Black Market Briefcase.
Maps:
Maps are the arenas where every round of Survive the Killer takes place. Each one has its own layout, which shapes where players can hide, how the killer can reach them and how they get out, including special routes like the Subway train. Current maps are joined by Classic layouts such as Classic Fair Grounds and Classic Willow Marsh, while older Legacy versions are kept as references only.
Loot:
Loot items are the collectibles scattered across every map in Survive the Killer. Walk over one to pick it up, and its coins are added to your total right away. Loot sits in fixed spots that refill, so learning each map helps you plan a route. Coins from loot are spent in the shop on items such as knives.
Cabins:
Cabins are personal spaces where players show off the knives and killers they own, and each one has its own room and look. The free Basic Cabin is given to every new player, while some cabins are bought for coins or gems, the Saloon needs Roblox Premium, and the Merchant Cabin comes with the Trading VIP pass. Event cabins were tied to special events, and an event cabin you own stays in your collection after the event ends. The Merchant Cabin also has its own role in the trading server, where it's displayed outside the trading building.
Titles:
Titles are cosmetic name tags that show beside your name in Survive the Killer. They come from account level, lifetime stat and collection milestones, VIP, Super VIP and Premium membership, the Trading VIP pass that grants The Merchant title, and limited-time events. Since they only change how your name looks, they don't affect how a round plays.
Survive the Killer Gameplay Tips
- Learn two ways out of every area. Exits open late in a round, and you'll want to head straight for one instead of searching for a path.
- Head for the nearest exit as soon as the doors open. The killer can see where every survivor is at that point, so waiting around gives them time to close in.
- Go back for a downed teammate only when you know roughly where the killer is. Reviving someone with the killer nearby can get you knocked down too.
- As the killer, move on once you've knocked someone down. Round time is limited and you need to catch everyone before they escape, so lingering on one player can cost you the others.
