Monster Partners are the companions that fill the last spot on your team in Star Sailors, the RPG where you build a party of six. They stay off the battlefield, but they give your whole party a bonus that carries through every fight. There's a full set of them to collect.

What Monster Partners Are in Star Sailors
Your team in Star Sailors holds six members. Your Adventurer takes one spot, two Battle Partners and two Assist Partners fill four more, and the Monster Partner takes the last one. That final slot is there for support, adding bonuses on top of what your characters already do.
Every Monster Partner is a companion you collect in the game. Each one has an element and a rarity, and both are worth checking before you build a team around one.
How Monster Partners Work in Battle
Monster Partners stay off the battlefield, so you never see one on screen during a fight. Their effects still reach everyone on your team, which is why they work as a support piece rather than a fighter.
At the start of each battle, a Monster Partner adds a Blessing, a bonus that applies to the whole team. It also has its own Monster Skill, which you trigger yourself at the moment you choose. Timing matters here, so use that skill when it will help most.
How to Get and Fuse Monster Partners
Descent Raid is one of the ways to add a Monster Partner to your collection. Clearing its Hard stages lets you recruit the raid boss as a Monster Partner. New bosses are added over time, so each one is another monster to chase.
Duplicates can be fused to try for a higher rarity. The upgrade isn't guaranteed, so you don't need to fuse every copy the moment you get it. Holding onto your duplicates until you know which monsters you want to build around is the safer way to use them.
How to Pick a Monster Partner for Your Team
Pick based on what your team lacks, not on which name sounds strongest. The bonus covers the whole party, so the right monster fills a gap, whether that's missing critical hits, damage or staying power.
Primal Tan suits a team that needs critical hits. It gives all allies Crit Rate at the start of battle, and its skill hits all enemies many times while raising allies' Crit Rate.
Plateau's Earth God Hakan also favors critical hits, but in a different way. It makes enemies take more critical damage and lowers their resistance to critical hits. It pays off most when your own attackers already land critical hits.
Archer of Repose Rowena is the pick for raw damage. It gives all allies ATK at battle start, and its skill raises allies' damage. Mr. Jaws adds to that by lowering enemy DEF, so your team's attacks land harder.
Forest Guardian Yaren suits a team that needs to last through long fights. It buffs ATK, heals and shields allies, so it covers both damage and survival.
FAQ
Where do I get Evil Eye Psychic Sai?
Sai is an SSR Monster Partner that was added to Descent Raid with the Summer Splash update. You recruit it by clearing the raid's Hard stages, the same route as the other raid bosses.
Are R-rarity Monster Partners worth using early?
Yes, as stand-ins. The Ashmane, Dreaming Forest and Mermrauder families give small team buffs and simple heals or DEF cuts, which help while you're still building your collection. They won't carry a tough fight on their own, so plan to swap them out as stronger monsters join your roster.
Can I swap my Monster Partner without rebuilding my team?
Yes. Swapping only changes your Monster Partner slot, so your Adventurer and your four Battle and Assist Partners stay where they are. You can try a new monster in that one spot and keep the rest of your lineup as it is.
