Heroes are the characters you collect and send into battle in Seven Knights Re:BIRTH. Each one has its own skills, a role such as Attack or Defense, and a damage type of either Physical or Magic. You use them in battles against other players and against the game's own enemies. You can collect and keep track of every hero as you play, across the SKs of Old, Legend+, Legend and Rare groups.

How heroes fight together in battle
Heroes fight as a team, and each one stands in a row on the field. Arena pits your team against other players, and Guild War does the same between guilds. Raids, the Infinite Tower and the Tower of Trials are fights against the game's own enemies.
Heroes in the front row are more likely to be attacked, so tanks (the heroes built to take hits) go up front. Damage dealers stay in the back, where they're less likely to be attacked.
Hero roles: Attack, Magic, Defense, Support and Universal
Each hero has one role, and the role shows what the hero is built for. Attack heroes deal high Physical damage but have low health (HP) and defense, so they stay in the back row. Magic heroes work the same way with high Magic damage, and they also belong in the back.
Defense heroes are the tanks, with high HP and defense but low attack power, so they hold the front row. Support heroes have fairly high HP and defense with somewhat low attack, and they help the rest of the team.
Universal heroes are balanced between attack and defense. Support and Universal heroes can go in either row.
How to choose heroes by role, damage type and enemy count
Start with the role, since it tells you what your team needs. Then check damage type. Attack heroes deal Physical damage and Magic heroes deal Magic damage, and many teams are built around one type, such as a magic team or a physical team. Look at what your team already uses before you add a hero, so the new one fits.
Last, look at how many enemies a hero's skills reach. Some skills hit one enemy at a time, while area (AoE) skills hit several at once, and multi-hit attacks strike the same target more than once. Players often pick an AoE hero for farming, which means repeating battles over and over, because one attack can cover a whole group of enemies. Match all three to the content you play most, whether that's Arena or raids.
How to get heroes: summons and fusion
The usual way to get heroes is a hero summon, which costs Rubies or Hero Summon Tickets. Save Rubies for summons, especially during limited-time banners. Fusion is another route, combining heroes you own into one hero with a higher star rank.
SKs of Old heroes: who they are and how to get them
The SKs of Old group, also called Seven Knights of Old, includes Fai, Rosie, Juri, Gelidus and Melia. They cover different jobs, from magic support to attackers that inflict status effects, so which one fits depends on the team you're building.
You normally can't pull them from the regular summon. They come from a limited-time Seven Knights of Old Summon. A Selection Card lets you choose one hero from the group, and a Summon Card gives one at random.
Duplicate heroes and Transcendence
Getting a hero you already own gives you a duplicate, and duplicates have a use. Transcendence uses them to make a hero stronger, and it opens after Adventure 2-20. You can Transcend a hero up to 12 times, but the material cost rises with each step.
Put your duplicates into one hero at a time, since each step costs more than the last.
FAQ
Can you still get collaboration heroes in Seven Knights Re:BIRTH?
Collaboration heroes, such as the Solo Leveling and Demon Slayer heroes, are limited. They can only be obtained while their collaboration event runs, so plan your Rubies before one ends.
Where do Hero Summon Tickets come from?
Besides events, the Gold Exchange Shop sells one Hero Summon Ticket a day for Gold. It's an easy daily pickup once your Gold income grows.
How do you earn a Seven Knights of Old hero for free?
Clearing floor 200 of the Infinite Tower gives a Seven Knights of Old Ticket. If you're stuck before that floor, raising your heroes' Potential can help.
