Income sources are the main Sell Lemons ladder. Each one adds a new way to earn cash, from clicking the Lemon Stand to running deliveries, wholesale sales, trading, research, automation, government-scale multipliers, and the Orange X endgame route.
Compare each source by unlock route, role, manager or automation path, and best use. The cards are meant to help you decide what to build next without turning each source into a wall of upgrade notes.

How to move through the income ladder
A normal run starts with the Lemon Stand. Click the stand, collect the cash that drops nearby, buy the Juicer and other stand upgrades, then get the Cash Register Automator so the first source keeps earning while you move around.
LemonDash is the first major expansion because delivery orders add active burst income. After that, Lemon Depot changes the scale with wholesale cash, but it also introduces hidden upgrade buttons behind building purchases. Walk through new rooms after buying a roof, walls, lights, or equipment, because the next useful button may not appear in the same spot as the previous one.
Lemon Trading is different from the earlier sources. It can create big payouts, but it depends on buying and selling at the right time. Keep some cash outside Trading until you understand the price swings, especially before an Evolution or Ascend reset.
When managers become worth buying
Managers are what turn Sell Lemons from a click-heavy tycoon into an idle game. The useful rule is simple: automate the source after its main yield upgrades are already strong. A Stand Automator is worth buying early because it frees you from basic clicking. LemonDash, Depot, Trading, Labs, and Robotics managers are better once the source already earns enough that automation has something meaningful to multiply.
Offline income makes managers even more important. If a source is automated, it can keep contributing while you explore, answer phone offers, hunt secrets, or log out and return later with more cash to reinvest.
What resets change
Evolution and Ascend make the same ladder feel different over time. Normal buildings and source upgrades can reset, but investor bonuses and permanent upgrades make the next rebuild faster. That is why Lemon Labs matters: its permanent upgrades are worth checking before you reset, because a permanent boost can help every future run.
Later, Lemon Robotics, Lemon Republic, and Orange X become more important than the early sources. Robotics helps with heavy automation, Republic adds global scaling, and Orange X, also called LemonX by some sources, is tied to the Moon and Ascension endgame. The early sources still form the base, but high multipliers let you rebuild them quickly while you aim at the sources that move the run forward.
The first two sources teach the run: click and collect cash at the stand, then use LemonDash for delivery bursts. Automation matters early because it frees you to buy upgrades, answer offers, and move toward the next source.
Republic and Orange X are long-term scaling sources. Republic boosts the whole economy, while Orange X, also known as LemonX, points toward the Moon, UFO, and Ascension side of Sell Lemons.
Labs and Robotics are where reset planning starts to matter. Labs can add permanent value, and Robotics becomes more attractive once Evolution multipliers make lower tiers quick to rebuild.
Depot and Trading are where the run stops being only about clicking. Depot rewards hidden-button checks after building purchases, while Trading needs cash discipline because bad timing can hurt the run.
FAQ
How many income sources are in Sell Lemons?
Sell Lemons has 8 tracked income sources: Lemon Stand, LemonDash, Lemon Depot, Lemon Trading, Lemon Labs, Lemon Robotics, Lemon Republic, and Orange X.
Is Orange X the same as LemonX?
Orange X is the main label, and LemonX is the alternate name. Players may see both names used for the final space-tier income source.
Should I buy managers as soon as possible?
Buy early automation for the Lemon Stand quickly, but later managers are best after the related source has enough yield upgrades to make automation worthwhile. A manager on a weak source usually earns less than a manager on a source you have already upgraded.
Is Lemon Trading safe to use?
Lemon Trading is useful, but it is the riskiest mid-game source because it depends on market timing. Keep cash in reserve until you understand the price cycle.
Do income sources reset after Evolution?
Normal source buildings and upgrades can reset, while investor bonuses and permanent upgrades carry long-term value. Check the reset note before deciding whether to push a source or reset.
