All 5 Food Items in Ride A Pet

Updated on (1 day ago)

Food gives pets EXP, which raises their Age and improves what they can do for your ranch. Prices climb quickly with the EXP reward, so the best snack depends on your Cash, the shop stock, and whether that pet is staying with you.

5 items

The central Food Shop sits near the Track station and refreshes its stock about every 2 minutes 45 seconds. Grass stays available and is also sold at the Overworld Food Vendor and Forest Food Cart, while Dragonfruit is a rare rotating offer. You can gift food with Robux, and a pet must be in the ranch or mounted before it can be fed.

Grass

The cheap always-stocked snack. Buy it from the central Food Shop, or from the Overworld Food Vendor and Forest Food Cart, when you only need a small Age bump.

Which pets should you feed?

Spend your better food on pets you plan to keep riding or using at the ranch. Feeding a temporary pet can burn a large pile of Cash for progress you may replace soon, which is an expensive way to make lunch disappear.

Grass is the safe pick when you only need a small Age boost or the main shop is between useful restocks. Higher-rarity food gives much more EXP at once, but the price jumps hard. Save those purchases for pets whose extra Age will keep helping your Cash per second and movement.

How to feed a pet

The pet must be in your ranch or mounted before you can feed it. A pet sitting only in your hotbar cannot eat yet, no matter how patiently the snack waits.

Move the pet into the ranch or mount it, select the food, then feed it to add the listed EXP. Check the pet first so you do not spend a rare restock on the wrong animal.

FAQ

Q.

What does food do in Ride A Pet?

Food gives a pet EXP, which raises its Age. Older pets can improve your ranch income and movement, so food is most useful on pets you plan to keep.

Q.

Where is the Food Shop?

The main Food Shop is near the Track station in the middle of the spawn area. Grass is also sold at the Overworld Food Vendor and the Forest Food Cart.

Q.

How often does the Food Shop restock?

The Food Shop refreshes about every 2 minutes 45 seconds. Grass is always stocked, but other food can be limited and Dragonfruit appears rarely.

Q.

Why can I not feed a pet in my hotbar?

Pets cannot be fed while they are sitting only in the hotbar. Put the pet in your ranch or mount it first, then use the food.

Q.

Which food gives the most EXP?

Dragonfruit has the largest listed EXP reward, but it also has the highest Cash price and rarely appears in rotating stock. Pick it for a keeper pet when the cost fits your progress.
