Raft is a survival game where a global flood has covered most of the land, leaving you on a raft in open water. Weapons help you get through the dangers out there, mainly the Shark that circles your raft and the hostile animals on the islands. The main options are spears, a machete, a titanium sword, a bow with arrows, and a net launcher. Most of them are for fighting, but the net launcher is for catching animals instead.

Melee Weapons in Raft
Melee weapons are the ones you use up close, and they're your first defense against the Shark. The Shark circles your raft, attacks anyone who goes into the water, and can destroy pieces of the raft itself. Spears are the usual answer, and the wooden spear is the first weapon you'll get.
Melee weapons form a clear line from basic to strong. The wooden spear comes first and only stabs, which is fine early on but falls behind quickly. The metal spear adds more damage and quick thrusts. The machete is a big knife that hits harder than the spear, and it also cuts through the vines and tape that block paths.
The titanium sword sits at the top. It hits harder and lasts longer than the rest, but it's a late-game weapon, so it's something you work toward rather than something you have on day one.
Bow and Arrows in Raft
The bow lets you hit a threat before it reaches you. It's the safe way to deal with airborne threats, and it's especially useful against Screechers. It also lets you keep your distance from animals and predators instead of trading blows.
Arrows are the ammo, and they come in three tiers that follow the same climb as the melee weapons. Stone arrows are the basic start. Metal arrows do more damage, and titanium arrows are the strongest of the three, though they cost more to make.
Net Launcher in Raft
The net launcher is listed with the weapons, but it's a catching tool, not a fighting one. It fires a net at animals such as Cluckers, Goats and Llamas, so you can bring them back to your raft. Once they're there, Cluckers lay eggs, Goats give milk, and Llamas give wool, which is the point of catching them.
Its range is short, and animals run from the net. It needs net canisters as ammo, so craft some before you head out.
How to Get and Craft Raft Weapons
You make your weapons yourself from materials you gather, and most of those materials come from the sea and the islands. A hook reels in floating debris such as planks, palm leaves and plastic, reefs give you metals and clay, and a smelter turns ore into the ingots that most better weapons need. The wooden spear needs no research. Other weapons need their materials researched at the Research Table before you can craft them, but the weapon itself doesn't need research.
The Titanium Tools blueprint unlocks both the titanium sword and titanium arrows, and you find it on a story island. Story islands lead to one another, so the best gear naturally comes late in the game.
Which Raft Weapons Matter Most
The metal spear is the one to rely on for most of the game. You'll use it against the Shark and Screechers. The titanium sword is the strongest melee weapon once you can make it.
Among arrows, metal is the practical step up from stone. Titanium arrows hit hardest, but they cost more, so they're a late-game choice.
FAQ
Do Raft weapons break?
Yes. Melee weapons have durability, which is how many uses they last before they wear out. The wooden spear lasts 20 uses, the metal spear and machete 40, and the titanium sword 80.
Where do you find the titanium sword blueprint?
It's the Titanium Tools blueprint, and it's on Utopia, the final story island in Raft. That single blueprint unlocks both the titanium sword and titanium arrows. You reach Utopia after working through the earlier story islands, so it comes late in the game.
Do Raft weapons do less damage on Hard mode?
Yes. Every weapon deals 20% less damage on Hard, so fights take longer than they do on easier settings.
