No More Room in Hell 2 is a co-op zombie survival game where you play as a Responder in a small squad. Its maps come in three types: Objective, Survival and Tutorial, and each one asks something different of you. Objective maps are large areas for working through a chain of objectives, while Survival maps are smaller spots for holding out against timed zombie waves. Knowing how each type plays will help you get through your first runs.

How Objective Maps Work
Objective maps are the larger of the two types. Each mission moves through a chain of objectives, and new stages open as you finish the ones before them. The mission only wraps up once your squad reaches the final stage and makes it out.
The routes aren't always the same from run to run. Some Objective maps change which objectives are active between runs, so a path you memorized last time may not work today. Keep an eye on the current objective on your screen instead of trusting memory.
Some areas stay locked until the mission reaches them, so the way in can change partway through. Items you need to carry, such as fuses, are placed a little away from the objectives they belong to, so build the trip into your plan.
How Survival Maps Work
Survival maps are smaller, and you don't need to cross them. Instead, your squad sets up around speakers that pull zombie waves toward your Responders. Each wave lasts five minutes, and the goal is to hold your position until it ends, not to clear the map.
Before the first wave, you get a few minutes to loot and build defenses around the first speakers, along with a supply drop. After each successful wave, another supply drop arrives, and the squad moves on to its next objective.
Staying alive comes down to a few habits. Keep your squad close enough to reinforce the speaker rather than spreading out to chase zombies. Choose a fallback route before each wave, and avoid retreating into a building with only one usable exit. Use the quiet time between waves to reload, heal and scavenge, and save ammo and medical supplies for the final wave.
Extraction and Early Extraction Explained
Runs end with extraction, which is how your squad gets off the map. On an Objective map, the exit opens once the main objectives are complete, and boarding it keeps your character and the experience you earned. On a Survival map, surviving three waves brings a helicopter to get you out.
Early extraction is the backup plan. On a Survival map it opens after two failed waves. Using it gets your Responder out, but it doesn't count as finishing the mission, pays no character progress and gives only a small share of Credits. It exists for runs that are falling apart, when staying would cost more than leaving.
Tutorial and Solo Mode Explained
The Tutorial is a guided start for new players. It walks you through melee and ranged combat, basic medical items, inventory, carrying mission items, and how objectives and extraction work. It's worth doing once, since after the controls feel familiar, running it again teaches far less than playing real mission routes.
Solo Mode lets you practice on every map without a squad. It takes away the risk of losing your character for good, so you can test routes, see how objectives play out, and experiment with weapons. The trade-off is that Solo Mode doesn't give the usual progress, which makes it best for scouting rather than building up a Responder.
Which Map to Play First
A sensible path for new players is to start with the Tutorial, spend time in Solo Mode on any maps that confuse you, and then move into multiplayer. In multiplayer, start on Beginner or Normal and move up to Hard and Nightmare once your routes and supplies feel reliable.
For Survival, every map follows the same wave pattern, so what you learn on one carries over to the others.
FAQ
How long does a Survival run take?
Survival runs are built around three waves of five minutes each, so the fighting alone adds up to about 15 minutes if your squad survives all three. The setup before the first wave and the quiet time between waves add to that. If two waves fail, early extraction opens, and the run can end well before the third wave.
What is Raven Rock?
Raven Rock is set in the mountains of southern Pennsylvania, just outside an underground military bunker. The mission is to find out what happened to the emergency command staff stationed inside.
Do all Objective maps end with a helicopter?
No. Each mission ends with its own extraction once the final stage is reached, and the exit changes by map. Raven Rock, for example, can end with a train or a helicopter exit.
