No More Room in Hell 2 is a co-op zombie survival game where ammo is scarce, so every round matters. The game's ammo comes in calibers, which describe the size and type of round a gun fires. Knowing which rounds fit your weapons, and where to find them, is part of staying alive.

How Ammo Types Work in No More Room in Hell 2
Each gun is built for one caliber, so it only fires the rounds that match. A 9mm pistol can't fire .45 rounds, and a shotgun can't fire rifle ammo. That's why a gun can sit useless in your hands even when your pack holds plenty of other ammo.
Some calibers feed more than one weapon, though. The 9mm rounds work in both a pistol and a submachine gun, and the shotguns share 12-gauge shells. That overlap means one supply can keep several guns working, which matters when ammo runs thin.
Where to Find Ammo and Why It Runs Short
You find ammo by searching the environment and opening ammo crates. Much of it also comes from unloading the guns you find, which spawn with varying amounts of ammo depending on difficulty. Ammo is scarce by design, so even a gun with only a few rounds can be worth picking up.
In Survival mode, the CRC sends supply drops before and after each wave, which gives your team more chances to restock between fights.
Which Ammo Types Matter Most
Rifle ammo matters most once armored zombies show up. Some zombies wear helmets, and others carry shields. Rifle rounds are the better answer to them, so if armored zombies are coming, reach for a rifle with the right ammo.
For fights at close range, shotguns are the answer, and 12-gauge is the round they fire. Keep those shells ready if you expect zombies to get close.
How to Make Your Ammo Last
Melee weapons are the main defense when ammo runs this tight, so use them on zombies you can handle. A lone zombie that's easy to deal with isn't worth a round. Save your guns for threats that could end your run.
Your team can help stretch supplies too. You can drop items for teammates, so leave spare rounds where someone who uses that caliber can grab them.
FAQ
Should I switch guns when I run low on ammo?
Often, yes, but only to a gun that fires rounds you still have. A stronger weapon with no matching ammo won't help you in a fight. Check your rounds before you swap, then pick the gun that matches the caliber you have the most of.
Does the Scavenger perk help with ammo?
Yes. Scavenger is a perk that adds ammo from pickups, so the rounds you find go further when ammo is hard to come by.
What does 12-gauge mean?
Gauge describes the inside width of a shotgun's barrel, so 12-gauge is one standard bore size. A smaller gauge number means a wider barrel, and the number says nothing about how hard a shell hits.
