All 27 Battle Companions and Memory Pairs in Love and Deepspace

Updated on November 1, 2026 (3 days ago)

Love and Deepspace is a sci-fi romance game where you play as a Hunter who fights creatures called Wanderers. Battle companions are the battle forms each love interest takes, and they're the partners who fight beside your Hunter in those battles. Each love interest has several forms, and each one brings its own skills into battle. Many players set out to unlock every form, keeping track of which ones they still need for each love interest.

What Are Battle Companions in Love and Deepspace?

Battle companions are the combat versions of the game's love interests: Xavier, Zayne, Rafayel, Sylus and Caleb. Each love interest appears in several forms, and the name shows which form you have, such as Xavier: Lumiere or Caleb: Netherlord. Each form has its own skills, and forms from a Memory Pair also bring a signature weapon, so switching forms changes how that character fights. Much of a companion's power comes from the Memories you equip with them, and Memories are the items you pull from Wish Pools.

How Battle Companions Fight Alongside Your Hunter

In battle, your Hunter teams up with a battle companion. The Hunter dodges, makes normal attacks and uses an active skill tied to the equipped weapon, while the companion adds skills of its own. The companion also decides your Resonance Skill, since that skill depends on who you're teamed up with. Each companion has an Evol, an elemental ability such as Ice for Zayne, and your Hunter's Resonance Evol boosts those abilities and lets the two of you launch team attacks. Each form plays a little differently, so the best pick depends on the battle you're entering and the team you're building.

How to Unlock Battle Companions

Every love interest's base form is free. Depending on the character, you get it from the start or once you reach their first story chapters, so you can try every love interest's style early on. Other forms unlock through progress. Some open after you clear later Main Story chapters, so they reward you for moving through the story. Others unlock once you own six of that love interest's Memories rated 4 stars or higher, which rewards collecting that character's Memories over time. The rest come from Memory Pairs, which have their own rules. Each form has its own unlock, so getting one form doesn't open the others for the same character.

How Memory Pairs Unlock Battle Companions and Signature Weapons

A Memory Pair is a linked pair of 5-star Memories. Owning either one unlocks the battle companion form and gives your Hunter its signature weapon, so you don't need the other. Pairs come from the permanent Xspace Echo Wish Pool or from limited-time Wish Pools. Xspace Echo is always open, while limited-time pools only run during their event. Xavier: King of Darknight is an example of a form that unlocks through a pair.

FAQ

Q.

Which battle companion should a new player unlock first?

Start with the base form of the love interest you like most, since it's free from the start or after the first story chapters. Playing a few battles with each base form shows you how different skills feel before you aim for the harder unlocks.

Q.

What if I miss the limited Wish Pool with the Memory Pair I need?

A limited-time Wish Pool only runs during its event, so a limited form stays locked until you own one of its pair's Memories. Forms from the permanent Xspace Echo Wish Pool don't have that deadline.

Q.

Do I need 5-star Memories to unlock battle companions?

Not for every form. Base forms and story-based forms don't depend on Memories, and the six-Memory route accepts 4-star ones. Only the Memory Pair route depends on 5-star Memories.
