All 132 Weapons by Family and Mark in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

Updated on November 1, 2026 (3 days ago)

Weapons are how your character fights in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, a co-op shooter set in Tertium, a hive city on the planet Atoma Prime. Your character usually carries a melee weapon for enemies that reach you and a ranged weapon for the ones still coming, and your choice shapes how your team handles crowds. Weapons come in families, and each family has marks, which are variants that change how a weapon attacks or handles. Perks and blessings add another layer, so the same family can play very differently from one player to the next.

How Melee and Ranged Weapons Work in Darktide

Your character usually carries a melee weapon for enemies that have closed in and a ranged weapon for the ones still at a distance, and you switch between them as a fight changes. Each weapon has a quick attack and a heavier one, and many also have special moves. Knowing when to use those attacks matters as much as picking the right weapon.

Enemies wear different kinds of armor, and a weapon that does well against one kind may barely hurt another. That's why a team benefits from weapons that cover different jobs instead of everyone carrying the same gear. Watch what's coming at you and switch to suit it.

Weapon Families and Marks

Every weapon belongs to a family, which is the type of weapon, such as the Blaze Force Sword or the Helbore Lasgun. Each family comes in marks, and a mark is a numbered variant like Mk IV or Mk V. A mark is more than a small stat change, since it can alter the attack pattern, the fire mode or how the weapon handles.

The Blaze Force Sword shows the difference well. The Deimos Mk IV is aimed at damage against a single target, while the Illisi Mk V is meant for clearing crowds. They come from the same family, but they play very differently.

Some families are shared by several classes, and others belong to just one. The paid classes add their own weapon families too, such as the Arc Rifle and Galvanic Rifle used by the Skitarii.

How to Get Weapons and Marks

New weapons are bought at the Armoury Exchange and at Sire Melk's Requisitorium. Marks are unlocked through progress on the Mastery track instead.

Every family has its own Mastery track. Using a weapon from that family in missions adds progress to the track, and as it moves forward, it unlocks the family's marks. Once a mark is unlocked, you can switch to it whenever you like, so the more you play a family, the more ways you have to fight with it.

Perks and Blessings

Perks and blessings are the two main ways to shape how a weapon plays. Perks are passive bonuses that unlock as you advance a family's Mastery track, and a weapon can only carry a limited number of them at once. Blessings are special effects that can change how a weapon plays, and they're unlocked with Blessing Points earned on the same track. Each blessing comes in tiers, and reaching the higher ones costs more Blessing Points.

Upgrading Weapons at the Shrine of the Omnissiah

The Shrine of the Omnissiah on the Mourningstar is where weapons are improved, and Hadron Omega-7-7 runs it. Crafting materials spent there raise a weapon's base stats, which is what the Power system does. Each weapon has a Power Cap, the highest point its stats can reach, and that cap rises as you advance its Mastery. You can always see the Power Cap, so you know how much room is left.

Applying blessings and changing perks both cost crafting materials at the Shrine, so decide what you want before you spend.

Which Weapons Matter Most

There's no single best weapon in Darktide, because the right pick depends on your class and what your team needs at that moment. A weapon that clears a crowd well may struggle against a single heavily armored enemy, so a balanced team usually covers both kinds of threat. Start from your class and your team's role, then pick the marks and perks that fill it.

FAQ

Q.

Can I change a weapon's perks or blessings after I've chosen them?

Yes. Blessings and perks can be swapped and interchanged rather than being locked in, and you can do it at any level of Mastery.

Q.

Which Darktide weapons are dual-wielded?

The Hive Scum fights with Dual Stub Pistols and Dual Autopistols, and the Skitarii can wield Paired Transonic Blades. Both are paid classes, so you need to buy them to use these weapons.

Q.

What materials does the Shrine use?

The Shrine uses Plasteel and Diamantine, which you collect on missions. Both go toward upgrades and blessings.
