Keys are special collectible pickups in Clean The Library, and there are four of them spread across the map. Each key is grabbed once and then stays with you for good, handing your character a permanent buff such as a higher jump, more carry room, or faster movement. Because every key changes how you play, it helps to see all four side by side and decide which upgrade matters most to your run.

Every key is a one-time, permanent upgrade
You only need to collect each key once. Once it is yours, the buff stays active on your character for good, so you do not have to re-grab it or keep it equipped. That makes the keys feel like account upgrades rather than items you can lose, and grabbing all four leaves you with a faster, higher-jumping, bigger-carrying character.
The carry keys stack for bigger book runs
The Golden Diamond and the Azure Star both raise how many books you can carry at once. They do not replace each other, they add together, so holding both gives you +3 from the Golden Diamond plus +2 from the Azure Star for five extra carry slots in total. That means fewer trips back and forth and faster shelf clearing, which is why most players chase both carry keys early.
The four keys cover three kinds of upgrade: a higher jump, faster movement, and extra carry capacity. Two of them, the Golden Diamond and the Azure Star, both boost carrying and stack together, while the others change how you move around the library.
