Clash of Critters mixes creature collecting with tower defense. You build a team of creatures called Tatari, then place them in lanes to hold back waves of enemies called Zobos.
The heart of the game is the Pinball Machine in your Camp, since everything you need to grow comes out of it. Shooting pinballs earns you Pinballs, capsules for new Tatari, and Candy to level them up. The loop is simple: shoot pinballs, grow your Tatari, clear stages, and earn more pinballs to do it all again.
Battles are where your team gets tested, and you lose a stage if a Zobo reaches the bottom of the screen or the timer runs out before your team clears the wave. Each chapter has 80 stages, with a boss fight at every tenth one, and beating a boss earns you a boss star. Those stars bring permanent upgrades, and as you move through the chapters, you're working toward a bigger team grid and a stronger Camp, including Pinball Trees that make pinballs on their own. Side modes such as Badge Dojo, Boss Challenge, and Horde Invasion give you other ways to play.

Tataris
Tatari forms are the creatures that fight for you in Clash of Critters, and each one has an element, a role and a place in an evolution line. Most lines run from Tier 1 up to Tier 4, and evolving a form takes stars built from duplicates plus a trial for each step. Element matchups change how much damage a form deals, so the right pick depends on what you're facing and the mode you're playing. There is no single best Tatari form for every situation.
Zobos and Bosses
Zobos are the enemy creatures in Clash of Critters, and bosses are the tougher Zobos that anchor many fights. Almost all of them have an element, and hitting one with the element that counters it deals double damage. You'll meet them in chapter stages and Horde Invasion, and some bosses return in tougher Boss Challenge versions.
Foods
Foods are items players feed to their Tatari to raise its stat grades and move it through feeding stages. Most foods only work on Tatari of one matching element, while Cookies fit any Tatari and Glitter Fruit works on Purple-or-higher Tatari. Feeding also counts toward evolution trials, and some Tatari need a specific food to finish one. Foods come from Boss Challenge rewards and the Game Shop, with more coming from Mall packs, the Bento Maker and several events.
Clash of Critters gameplay tips
Read the element wheel before you place anything. Water beats Fire, Fire beats Grass, Grass beats Rock, Rock beats Lightning, and Lightning beats Water. A counter hits for double damage while the reverse only does half, so watch the thumbs on the deployment screen: green means a good match and red means a weak one.
Level up your duplicates before chasing new Tatari. Duplicates raise a Tatari's stars, and stars control when it can evolve, which is where its real abilities show up. Duplicates also help your Tatari handle harder stages, so you get more value from the ones you already have.
Pick one line per element early. Spreading capsules across many lines slows everything down. Committing to one line for each element keeps your duplicates and evolutions moving in the same place, so your team gets strong faster.
Prepare for boss stages before you start them. Auto-Battle doesn't run on boss stages, so you'll be handling the fight yourself. Bosses that summon more enemies need attacks that hit several targets at once, and swapping one Tatari for a healer can be enough to turn a repeated loss into a win.
Keep your Shields up by shooting pinballs. Shields protect you against raids, and the Pinball Machine is where they come from. Without one, a raid can drain a big chunk of your Candy.
Don't skip your daily tasks. Daily tasks are one of the fastest ways to grab free resources as you progress, and that adds up over time. Raid dungeons such as Boss Challenge and Badge Dojo also bring in extra currencies.
