How Assetto Corsa Cars Handle and Sound on Track

Each car in Assetto Corsa has its own handling personality. The physics engine is built to capture it, and it models details such as tyre flat spots, heat cycles, and the graining and blistering that show up on the tyres. Movable aerodynamic parts are simulated in real time too, so wings and flaps play a real part in how the car drives.

Sound gets the same care. The development team recorded sessions directly on the circuit, working with car manufacturers, and the sound changes depending on whether you are inside or outside the car. You can hear the underside of the car scraping the asphalt and tyres squealing as they lose grip, and those sounds give you useful information while you drive.

Road and performance cars are sports cars, sedans and SUVs made for public roads, with a performance focus. Historic and classic cars come from earlier decades and keep the look and build of their era.

Race cars are built for competition, from GT3 and GT4 machines to one-make series cars where everyone runs the same model. Prototype and endurance cars are long-distance machines made for races that last hours.
