All 94 Red Dead Redemption Locations for 100%

Updated on October 12, 2026 (11 days ago)

Red Dead Redemption's 100% tracker counts places, and the county names count too. A county's map reveals most of the places inside it, so the real work is buying the right map and riding out to the few spots it misses.

How the 100% tracker counts places

County names sit on the tracker as their own entries. Find one place inside a county and that county registers, with no separate step. Named places register in one of two ways: you ride close enough to reveal them, or you buy the matching map and use it from Consumables. Buying the map does nothing on its own.

Location discovery is its own part of 100%. Location discoveries contribute 6% to your overall completion. Clearing gang hideouts, owning safehouses, finishing bounties and finishing jobs are tracked separately, so none of them mark a place as discovered.

Where to buy each map

  • Armadillo General Store: the Cholla Springs and Gaptooth Ridge maps. One stop covers two counties.
  • Thieves' Landing General Store: the Rio Bravo map.
  • MacFarlane's Ranch General Store: the Hennigan's Stead map.
  • Escalera Gunsmith: the Punta Orgullo map.
  • Chuparosa General Store: the Perdido and Diez Coronas maps.
  • Manzanita Post General Store: the Tall Trees map.
  • Blackwater General Store: the Great Plains map.

When Nuevo Paraíso and West Elizabeth open

Start with New Austin. Cholla Springs and Rio Bravo appear during the first mission, and Hennigan's Stead appears during the second. Nuevo Paraíso opens after "We Shall Be Together in Paradise." West Elizabeth's two counties, Tall Trees and Great Plains, open after "An Appointed Time." Until a gate passes, its counties stay closed, so the New Austin maps are the ones to work through first.

Places a map won't always reveal

Use the map first. If one of these is still undiscovered afterward, ride to it.

  • Cholla Springs: Hamlin's Passing.
  • Rio Bravo: Del Lobo Rock, Frontera Bridge, Plainview and Repentance Rock. If Repentance Rock remains undiscovered after you use the Rio Bravo map, ride to the rock itself.
  • Hennigan's Stead: Mescalero, The Old Bacchus Place and Warthington Ranch.
  • Gaptooth Ridge: The Scratching Post.
  • Punta Orgullo: Plata Grande and Puerto Cuchillo.
  • Tall Trees: Mason's Bridge and Tanner's Span. If either remains undiscovered after you use the Tall Trees map, ride across that bridge.

Map exceptions for Benedict Pass, Benedict Point, and Cochinay

  • Benedict Pass and Benedict Point: They belong to Gaptooth Ridge, but their map option is the Rio Bravo map from Thieves' Landing. The Armadillo map isn't the one to buy for them.
  • Cochinay: Cochinay is in Tall Trees. Keep it on your route; it still counts toward location discovery.

FAQ

Q.

Do Undead Nightmare locations count?

No. This tracker covers the Red Dead Redemption Story Mode map. Undead Nightmare is a separate game, and its areas aren't on this tracker.

Q.

Does the version I play change these places?

No. The same Story Mode map applies to the original release and to later single-player versions.

Q.

Why is a county map greyed out?

A greyed-out county map can mean you've already discovered the places inside that county.

Q.

Does discovering a place unlock fast travel?

Yes. Once you've discovered a place, you can fast travel to that area from camp.

Q.

Is there an achievement for this?

Yes. The achievement or trophy tied to this tracker is On the Trail of de Vaca.

Q.

Does clearing Solomon's Folly count toward 100%?

Finding the place is what counts here. Its extra hideout encounter is optional, and clearing it doesn't count toward the separate hideout requirement.
