Bounty Hunter License
The 2019 Frontier Pursuits weekly series released these posters one at a time, and Rockstar later put them all on the Bounty Board together. Buy the Bounty Hunter License from the Legendary Bounty Hunter in Rhodes, and it opens every poster in this group.
Prestigious Bounty Hunter License
December 2020 brought these posters on December 1, 8 and 22. You need both licenses for them: the standard Bounty Hunter License first, then the Prestigious Bounty Hunter License from any Bounty Board.
Stars show replay difficulty. A cleared bounty locks for a while before you can take it again.
Which Legendary Bounty to Take First
Start with the Bounty Hunter License posters, since the Prestigious targets come after them on any route. After that, plan by region. Targets sit across New Austin, Ambarino, New Hanover, Lemoyne, West Elizabeth and Bayou Nwa, so group the posters you're taking in one region and skip the long rides between them.
Replays Get Harder
Stars climb on replays, from one star up to five on the Bounty Hunter License targets. The Prestigious targets also get harder on replay. Rewards rise with the difficulty you pick.
The Posters That Catch People Out
- The Owlhoot Family is one poster with four targets spread around Rio Bravo. Use the jail wagon east of Benedict Point instead of arranging your own transport.
- Philip Carlier in the Lagras swamp starts with an illusion. Ignore the first Philip you see and keep searching for the real one.
- Red Ben Clempson rides a moving train north of Tumbleweed. Stop the train at the engine before you load him onto your horse.
- Virgil "The Shepherd" Edwards sends you through three cult camps in Roanoke Ridge first. A cultist's note at one of them points you to his cave west of Annesburg.
FAQ
Do I have to bring the target in alive?
No. Every poster is wanted dead or alive, so either finish completes the mission. Several tips focus on taking the target alive.
Are Infamous Bounties part of the Legendary Bounties?
No. Infamous Bounties are separate chains with their own posters, so they aren't part of the Legendary Bounty missions.
