How to Catch Colossus Reef Titan in Fisch

Updated on March 2, 2026 (about 14 hours ago)

Catching the Colossus Reef Titan in Fisch is no easy feat. This Secret hunt fish – a mythical red version of the Reef Titan with orange/white eyes and glowing parts – only appears during the rare daytime Colossus Reef Titan Hunt server event, and if you’re not ready, you’ll miss it. The moment the 'Colossus Reef Titan has been spotted' alert pops up, rush to the exact spot for one of the toughest fishing battles.

Here's a quick answer on how to catch it:

  • Be in Tidefall’s Coral Bastion pool when the Colossus Reef Titan Hunt alert appears.
  • Use a top-tier rod like the Fabulous Rod for the best chance.
  • Stay calm during the fight, hold the control bar steady, and predict the erratic movements.

You need to be in the right place at the right time

The Colossus Reef Titan only spawns in one spot: the Coral Bastion pool inside the Tidefall area. To get there, enter Tidefall through the Underwater Cave, then head east from the Drowned Appraiser NPC until you reach a colorful coral-filled pool. This is your arena.

The fish only appears during a rare daytime Colossus Reef Titan Hunt event (0.1% spawn chance). When the server alert 'Colossus Reef Titan has been spotted' appears, you have a short window to get to Coral Bastion and start fishing. If you’re late, fishing at night, or anywhere else, you won’t see it.

Gear up with the best rods

This isn’t a fish you can catch with just any rod. The Fabulous Rod is the top choice because it offers the best stats and handling for exotic hunts. If you don’t have it, the Ruinous Oath or Rod of Forgotten Fang are solid alternatives. Using a high-quality rod reduces failed attempts and makes the fight more manageable.

There’s also a Coral Rod and Coral Spear nearby, but these are more for other Tidefall activities and don’t improve your chances here. No specific bait is required, unlike some fish.

Master the tricky catch mechanics

Catching the Colossus Reef Titan is a real challenge. The progress bar moves very slowly: 99% slower than usual: and the fish’s erratic movements make it hard to keep control. When it bites, it damages your control bar and sets you back a lot.

The key is to hold the control bar steady near the middle, watch for sudden jumps, and avoid spamming the reel button. Panic reeling or spamming will only make you lose progress faster. Predicting the fish’s moves and staying calm is what wins the fight.

Steps to catch the Colossus Reef Titan

  1. Enter Tidefall through the Underwater Cave.
  2. Walk east from the Drowned Appraiser to reach Coral Bastion (GPS 2650, -1105, 873).
  3. Wait for the daytime Colossus Reef Titan Hunt alert on your server.
  4. Cast your line in the Coral Bastion pool using your best rod.
  5. When the hook icon appears above your head and shimmering sound plays, start the minigame.
  6. Hold the control bar steady mid-way, predict erratic jumps, and avoid spamming.
  7. Keep reeling patiently until you land the fish.

What you get and what to expect

The Colossus Reef Titan is mostly for bestiary completion and bragging rights. Unlike the regular Reef Titan (which aids unlocks like blue Runic Obelisk), the Colossus Reef Titan is purely for bestiary completion and bragging rights.

You can catch it multiple times across different hunts since there’s no one-time lockout. But remember, it only appears during daytime with a very low spawn chance: about 0.1%: and you might need around 2,000 Sundials to force it reliably.

A few things to watch out for

  • Don’t confuse the Colossus Reef Titan with the regular Reef Titan: Colossus is rarer Secret (red with glowing parts, orange/white eyes), much harder (0.1% vs. ~1%).
  • It only spawns during the day. No nighttime attempts will work.
  • You must be quick when the event alert pops up; slow reactions mean missing your chance.
  • Practice makes perfect. The fight is tough, so getting used to the control bar’s erratic behavior is key.

Catching the Colossus Reef Titan is a test of timing, gear, and patience. Get to Coral Bastion fast when the hunt starts, bring your best rod, and stay calm during the fight. With practice, you’ll add this rare secret fish to your collection and stand out in the Fisch community.
