Picking a Cursed Fruit or rerolling a race in Grand Blue can leave you with a rare-looking build that clears quests poorly. This ranking puts every current Cursed Fruit and named race variant on one progression scale, judging repeatable quest and boss clearing first, then utility and survivability; PvP, water, nighttime, and melee builds can move a choice. Use S for the easiest general fit, A for high-value choices with a condition, B for build-dependent choices, C for limited general value, and D for the most restricted option, not as an automatic reroll order.

S Tier
Pick from here when your main goal is a cleaner route through mixed enemies and boss rooms.
| Image | Entry | Type | Best fit | Main edge | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Darkness Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Grouped quests and bosses | Pulls groups for burst and control | Needs enemies close enough to group |
![]() | Flame Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Boss rooms and waves | Area damage with Fireflies sustain | Skill timing matters for full value |
![]() | Human (Celestial Variant) | Race | General progression | Pet or NPC help and a shop discount | Hard to plan a reroll around |
![]() | Beastfolk (Cat Variant) | Race | Mobile combat and basic attacks | Movement speed and nighttime combat value | Variant details can change in Early Access |
![]() | Beastfolk (Bunny Variant) | Race | Mobile combat and basic attacks | Movement speed and nighttime combat value | Variant details can change in Early Access |
For a general route, choose between control and sustained area pressure. Darkness fits grouped targets, while Flame suits players who can keep area skills on targets through a boss phase.
Separate fruit-based Roblox games use different kits, so a fruit-farming comparison is useful for judging clear speed and utility instead of rarity. A focused fruit-progression example also shows why finding a fruit and deciding to keep it are separate choices. Grand Blue's Cursed Fruit skills follow their own rules.
Celestial is a bonus rather than a reroll plan because its utility depends on obtaining that named variant. Cat and Bunny suit movement-heavy routes, especially when basic attacks or nighttime conditions make their traits relevant. In a team, one player grouping enemies raises the value of area kits, while a melee teammate can cover a fruit that needs space.
A Tier
Choose this tier when one clear condition matters, but you still want a route that works outside a single niche.
| Image | Entry | Type | Best fit | Main edge | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Chop Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Mixed quests and close combos | Slashing resistance, ranged cuts, and limb utility | Recheck current skill text for defensive and control effects |
![]() | Bomb Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Quest waves and beginner routes | Large-area blast pattern with a forgiving clear | Less utility when enemies need control or mobility |
![]() | Wolf Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Melee pressure and PvP | Close-range damage, transformation speed, and bleed pressure | Less area coverage for spread-out farming |
![]() | Human (Half Fish Variant) | Race | Water routes and skill-heavy builds | Extra skill-slot value with water, soaked, and fishing utility | Less value when most fights stay on land |
![]() | Skyfolk | Race | Exploration and aerial combat | Glide, air dashes, extra dash capacity, and aerial movement | Needs comfort with vertical movement |
![]() | Dwarf | Race | Gear and resource-focused builds | Gear, stat, and cooldown/resource benefits | Movement speed penalty hurts long travel |
Bomb is the low-maintenance choice in this band because it asks less from the rest of your loadout. Chop should move down if the live skill text does not show the defensive or control interaction described above. Wolf earns more value when fights stay close, but its place falls when a route scatters targets.
If most of your fights happen in water, Half Fish can pass the general-purpose race choices. Skyfolk saves more time on routes with long gaps or vertical islands, while Dwarf pays off in gear-heavy builds where its travel penalty is a smaller problem. A frontline teammate also gives close-range fruits more room to work.
PvP changes the order further: Wolf can rise when close-range pressure decides fights, and Spike can rise when safe distance matters more than quest speed. These are mode changes, not reasons to call one choice best for every player.
B Tier
Use this band when your build, route, or preferred distance does more work than the fruit or race alone.
| Image | Entry | Type | Best fit | Main edge | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Strength Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Melee and fighting-style builds | Fighting-style synergy | Needs the rest of the build to supply its missing tools |
![]() | Drain Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Single-target fights and safer learning | Sustain and healing | Slower grouped clear |
![]() | Spike Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Ranged group pressure and PvP | Safe range and area coverage | Lower output when a quick boss clear is the goal |
![]() | Seafolk | Race | Water routes and soaked or fishing play | Water-focused utility | Conditional outside water |
![]() | Human (Long Armed Variant) | Race | Basic-attack combo players | Extra basic-attack range | Narrow payoff outside close-range strings |
![]() | Human (Long Legged Variant) | Race | Dodging and travel | Longer dashes and extra height | Less direct damage value |
Strength becomes an A-level choice for a fighting-style main because the rest of the loadout supplies what a general fruit kit lacks. Drain suits a player who values surviving a boss over clearing a wave quickly, while Spike gains value when keeping distance is the main problem.
Choose Seafolk only when water or soaked interactions appear often in your playtime. Long Armed and Long Legged reward players who already use close-range strings or movement tech, so they are not automatic upgrades for every fruit. A build change can move these choices up, but only when it changes what you do in most fights.
C Tier
Take this tier when you want a simple starting plan and are not building around a specialised trait.
| Image | Entry | Type | Best fit | Main edge | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Cannon Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Starter ranged quests | Simple ranged skills for learning spacing | Limited late-progression throughput |
![]() | Human | Race | Learning the game and saving rerolls | Flexible default with no specialised requirement | No extra movement, water, gear, or range trait |
Cannon works while you learn target spacing and skill timing. Move on when a route demands tighter mob control or a specialised travel tool. Human is a safe default, not a punishment: keep it while you learn the map, then reroll only after you know which trait solves a real problem.
Some race lists show eight entries because Cat and Bunny are grouped under Beastfolk and the special Human forms are folded into one Human label. Separating the named variants keeps each available choice visible.
D Tier
Use this tier for a movement-first starter plan or a niche combo, not for the smoothest general progression.
| Image | Entry | Type | Best fit | Main edge | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
![]() | Spin Fruit | Cursed Fruit | Mobility-first starter play | Spin movement and damage | Low damage and utility ceiling for general progression |
Spin can work for mobility-first players, but its farming value falls when enemies spread out or survive the first rotation. Keep it for a movement-focused starter plan, or change when your route needs more area control, sustain, or boss pressure.
Fruit skill levels are saved for each fruit, so changing fruits does not erase the progress attached to the one you leave. Keep a workable fruit until the next choice fixes a clear gap, and treat race rerolls as optional rather than mandatory.
