What Equipment Does in What If Disasters
Most equipment is cosmetic or novelty. In plain terms, cosmetic means it changes how your character looks, and novelty means it's there for fun. You don't need either kind to get through a disaster, so choose based on the effect or appearance you want.
Survival comes mostly from the round itself. The game gives you a 30-second warm-up to look around, then the disaster builds in stages with prompts on your screen. Staying alert and finding a safe spot matter far more than what you equip.
How to Get Equipment With Credits
Equipment is paid for with Credits, the game's currency, and you spend them in the shop from the lobby. You earn Credits by playing, since a round you survive to the end pays out Credits and XP when it finishes. Missions add to that, and you can open them with the MISSIONS button in the lobby.
Every mission asks you to survive disasters, either a set number of times or one particular type. Daily Missions pay Credits every day, and Weekly Missions pay a larger amount once a week.
Prestige is a longer-term boost. After you survive a particular disaster five times, you can prestige it to raise the XP and Credits you earn from that disaster. The boost applies only to that disaster, and you can track your survival counts in the Index.
Tips for Saving Credits and Choosing Equipment
Because most equipment is for looks and fun, let the look of an item guide your choice more than its cost. Pick one piece you really like and save toward it, and buy a cheaper piece now and then if you want some variety along the way.
The steady way to save is to keep playing as you normally would, staying alive to the end of each round and checking MISSIONS as you go. Both feed the same Credit balance, so every round you survive adds toward the item you're saving for.
FAQ
Where do you buy equipment in What If Disasters?
Open SHOP from the lobby and choose the Equipment tab. The shop also has Titles and Boosts tabs, and your Credit balance shows at the top, so you can check what you can afford before you buy.
Do you need Robux to get equipment?
No. Equipment is bought with Credits, which come from playing, while Robux is used for game passes instead. Robux purchases are optional in the game, so you can earn equipment without spending real money.
Are more expensive items better in What If Disasters?
Price doesn't tell you that. A higher price only means the item costs more Credits, and an item's name doesn't show what it does either.
