Trailers in SnowRunner are the extra loads you tow behind your trucks and scouts. They carry cargo, logs, fuel, water, repair supplies, and mission equipment, so one run can move far more than a truck could alone. Some are sold at Trailer Store locations, while others only come with specific contracts and tasks. Knowing how they hook up and when they slow you down will save you a lot of frustration on the road.

How Do Trailers Hook Up to a Truck in SnowRunner?
Trailers connect in different ways depending on their type. Drawbar trailers attach to the regular hitch that almost any vehicle has, so your truck doesn't need any changes. Semi-trailers are much bigger and need a saddle instead. To fit one, the truck has to lose its frame modifications, since the saddle takes their place.
Saddles come in low and high versions, and some semi-trailers need one or the other. You can find saddles in the customize menu, and installing one is free. Not every truck can take the saddle the biggest trailers need, so check your truck before you take on a job that calls for one.
When a job calls for a particular saddle, the task or contract tab on the map shows which one you need. That lets you get ready before you set out.
Do Trailers Slow Your Truck Down?
Yes, the extra weight is the main trade-off. A heavy load slows many vehicles, and you feel it most on steep climbs over rough ground. The whole set can't get through some narrow routes, and semi-trailers are harder to steer on tight roads because they're so long.
Still, the extra room is often worth it, since hauling more at once can save you time. The biggest trailers are the hardest to pull and handle on some terrain and routes. When a road is steep or tight, splitting the load into separate trips is often the better choice.
Where to Buy and Sell Trailers in SnowRunner
Outside most garages, and in other spots around the map, you can find a Trailer Store. It sells regular trailers, but mission trailers aren't sold there because they belong to specific jobs.
Trailers you find lying around the map can bring in money too. Many are scattered across the maps, and you can sell them once you deliver them to a Trailer Store, as long as they aren't mission equipment. Trailers you rescue sell for the same price as a new one, which makes them a handy source of cash.
There's also a trick outside hard mode. You can buy a repair or refuel trailer, use it to refuel or repair a truck, then sell it back for the same price you paid.
How to Load Cargo onto Trailers in SnowRunner
Cargo can be loaded onto a trailer or truck bed automatically. If there's more than one spot it could go, use the on-screen buttons to choose where it goes, and switch between cargo types when you have more than one kind on board.
Hard mode works differently. Auto delivery costs money there, so you make manual deliveries instead, using a crane to lift the cargo onto your truck or trailer.
Mission Trailers: What They Are and How to Get Them
Mission trailers are built for specific jobs. They're tied to a contract or task instead of being sold in the store, so you get them by taking on that work. Some carry big loads like a rocket or a wind turbine blade, while others come already loaded with the job's cargo.
The Rocket Carrier Platform, for example, only comes into play during the Liftoff contract. If a job gives you a mission trailer, that trailer is part of the job itself, so plan around it from the start.
Which Trailers Matter Most on Long Trips and Rescues
When you're heading out on a long drive, or going to rescue a stuck truck, bring a maintenance trailer or a fuel trailer. A maintenance trailer covers both fuel and repairs, so it's a strong pick for a long route. Taking supplies along matters even more on maps without a garage.
You can also leave trailers in handy spots along a route, so they're ready when you pass by again.

Do I have to pick a saddle myself?
No. If you don't choose one, SnowRunner sets a saddle for you at the moment you try to attach the semi-trailer.
Can I get free fuel from a trailer?
Yes, from abandoned fuel trailers you come across on the map. You can top up from them for free, but each one has a limited reserve, so try not to waste it. Fuel stations never run out, which makes them the steady option. On hard mode, fuel costs money either way.
How much cargo can a trailer carry?
Most trailers add room for cargo, and how much depends on the one you pick. The smallest load takes up a single slot, while some later and bigger loads need far more slots than that.
