Stranded on a mysterious island as a scout, you climb in PEAK, a co-op mountain climbing game. Your goal is to climb the mountain at its center and reach the summit, and one small misstep can end your run. You can play alone or team up with up to three friends, and friends can help each other over the toughest ledges.
You begin in the Airport, where you customize your scout, practice on a climbing wall, and pick a difficulty before boarding the plane. The run begins when the plane crashes onto the shore, and from there you climb through several biomes, each with its own hazards. Climbing uses up stamina, the bar that shows how much effort you have left. If it runs out mid-climb, you slip and fall, so managing food and rest matters as much as your grip.
Injuries, hunger, and other afflictions take up space on that same bar too, and once they fill all of it, your scout passes out. Teammates can heal you with bandages or a First Aid Kit, and if nobody reaches you in time, you become a ghost until an Ancient Statue or a Scout Effigy brings you back. The island changes every 24 hours for all players, and each Ascent you complete unlocks the next harder one, up to Ascent 8. Along the way, badges unlock cosmetics for your scout.

Game data
Items
PEAK's items cover food, healing, climbing gear, movement tools, navigation, mystical relics and props. You find most of them in luggage, from the island's plants and animals, around campfires and at Ancient Statues. Knowing what each one does before a tough climb can save you a lot of trouble.
Biomes
Biomes are the themed zones that make up PEAK's mountain, each with its own terrain, weather and hazards. A run starts on the Shore, climbs through four slots that each hold one of two biomes, and ends at the summit. The zones range from sunny deserts and snowy cliffs to misty swamps and a tower full of traps, and a campfire near the top of most of them opens the way onward.
Collectibles
Badges
Badges are PEAK's achievements, which the game also calls Accolades. Each one is earned by completing a specific challenge, such as getting past a biome, escaping the island alive, or using an item in a particular way. Every badge unlocks a cosmetic for your Scout, and collecting all of them unlocks the Ascendant Medal. Players can check their progress in the Accolades tab of the pause menu.

PEAK gameplay tips
- Practice on the Airport climbing wall before boarding. Learning how grabbing and jumping feel there is safer than learning it on the mountain, where a slip can end your run.
- Send one player ahead on a hard section. Let one person test the route, and let the rest follow once it's clear, so one bad attempt doesn't cost the whole group.
- Light a campfire before the hardest stretch, with everyone nearby. Lighting it gives each nearby player bonus stamina and heals some Injury, so the group starts the next section in better shape. It also autosaves your game, so you can pick the run back up later.
- Head for a hot spring when a blizzard hits. Blizzards sweep across most of the Alpine and add Cold quickly to anyone caught in them, and sitting in the hot water keeps the cold off while it passes.
- Heal injuries as soon as you can, using Bandages or a First Aid Kit. Injuries don't wear off by themselves, and they keep lowering your stamina until they're healed.
- Leave ropes and climbing spikes at tough ledges. Players who come after you can use them to get past the same spot, so the climb gets easier for the whole group.
