Swing a racket or draw a bow in Nintendo Switch Sports Resort with the Joy-Con 2 controllers. It's a party sports game for the Nintendo Switch 2 that launched on October 22, 2026. It follows Nintendo Switch Sports from 2022 and returns to Wuhu Island, where you play 12 sports by moving the Joy-Con 2 controllers in your hands. Each sport turns them into stand-ins for real gear, so you swing them like a racket or draw them back like a bow. Because the motions match the real sport, most people can pick things up quickly.
A session starts with picking a sport and a mode, and you can play alone or with up to three friends. Online play is available too, but it needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Playing any sport in any mode earns Spocco Points, which you spend at the Item Center on customizations for your character.
The longer goal is Island Crown, an offline single-player mode where you climb the ranks in nine sports. Each sport starts you at 20th place, and higher ranks unlock more cosmetics as you work up toward the Island Champion at the top. Beat the champion to earn that sport's crown, and a tougher Island Legend waits beyond. The other three sports, skateboarding, power cruising and prop plane, sit outside Island Crown and are built around exploring Wuhu Island by land, sea and air.

Game data
Sports
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is set on Wuhu Island and includes boxing, table tennis, archery, tennis, volleyball, bowling, basketball, golf and thumb wrestling, along with skateboarding, power cruising and prop plane. Most of the competitive sports copy real-world motions with the Joy-Con 2, while the leisure sports take you exploring the island by land, sea and air. Island Crown is the solo mode for the competitive sports, and friends can play together on one Switch 2 or online.
Island Champions
Island Champions are the top-ranked computer opponents in Island Crown, the single-player mode of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. Each competitive sport has its own ranking that players climb from 20th place until they reach 2nd and challenge the champion, who holds 1st. Beating a champion claims that sport's Island Crown, and a tougher challenge opens up after it. Tennis, Volleyball and Basketball champions come as pairs, while Skateboarding, Power Cruising and Prop Plane have no champion at all.

Switch Sports Resort gameplay tips
- Watch for Super Rank Ups in Island Crown. Some wins skip you several places at once, so a strong run climbs the ladder much faster than one place at a time.
- Play at least one sport each day. The daily bonus gives you 1,000 Spocco Points, which is enough for one random pull at the Item Center.
- Keep your wrist straight when you punch in Boxing. Turning your wrist makes your boxer sway instead of landing the punch.
- Hold your thumb down in Thumb Wrestling. It grows bigger and stronger the longer you hold it, which helps you keep a pin for the three seconds you need to win the round.
- Wear the wrist strap and clear space around you. The swings are big, so keep room around you while you play.
