In Mycopunk, a co-op sci-fi shooter, you fight back a fungal outbreak across New Atlas as a robot on a cleanup crew. It comes from Pigeons at Play and Devolver Digital, and its 1.0 version came out on PC and PS5 in October 2026. You can go it alone or team up with up to three friends, and the tone is playful while the fights get loud and chaotic fast.
Each trip starts in the H.U.B., an orbital dropship that serves as your base between missions, and you pick a region and a mission inside it from there. Each region has its own resources to gather, and once you drop in, you fight waves of enemies, finish the objective, and call the pod to get out. New enemies keep arriving for as long as you stay, so it pays to finish the job and head for the pod. If nobody makes it into the Drop Pod, the mission fails, so the escape matters as much as the fight.
Grenades give you one more tool in a fight. Mycopunk 1.0 has five grenade types: Photon Disc, Incendiary, Voltaic, Caustic and Snowball. Snowball is a cryo grenade meant for controlling enemies, and you can unlock it in X11-B, a small moon of New Atlas.
Missions reward you with resources and experience, and you spend those at the H.U.B. to upgrade your weapons and fill out their hive grids. The grid is a shape-fitting system where upgrade pieces change how a weapon or ability works. Each playable employee brings its own abilities, so the long-term goal is a loadout that suits your style and your squad.

Weapons
Mycopunk's arsenal has primary weapons and heavy weapons, and every gun upgrades through its own grid. A standard loadout holds two primaries and a grenade, while heavy weapons are found in heavy weapon crates during missions and sit in a separate stored slot. There are no ammo pickups, so damage from one gun is what refills the others.
Employees
Employees are the playable characters of Mycopunk, a co-op shooter where you form a squad to fight a fungal outbreak on New Atlas. Each one has its own abilities and upgrade grid, and you choose one in the HUB before each mission. The Mycologist, added in the 1.0 update, is unlocked by rescuing her in the Expedition Alpha mission. Glider stands out for its speed and wingsuit flight.
Mycopunk gameplay tips
- Keep moving, and shoot while you sprint. Enemies keep chasing, and standing still lets swarms close in. You can fire while sprinting, so there's little reason to stop.
- Hold your health orbs until you need them. Green orbs heal only a little and don't scale, so grabbing one at full health wastes its healing. Leave them on the ground and pick them up when your health is low or a teammate needs healing.
- Check a region's resources before you launch. Hovering over a mission region shows the rare materials inside. This is the only reliable way to find Beezia, Gussula, and Saxonite, so checking beats running random missions and hoping.
- Use your abilities often. Every employee has abilities with short cooldowns, so they're meant to be used regularly. Waiting for the perfect moment just means they sit unused.
- Call the pod as soon as the objective is done. If nobody makes it into the Drop Pod, the mission fails, so the exit needs as much attention as the objective.
- Tune your loadout before heading to X11-B. X11-B is built around high-difficulty missions and meant to challenge players with powerful builds, so refine your upgrades before you go in rather than running a rough setup.
