Sinners are the twelve main characters you fight with in Limbus Company, the turn-based RPG from Project Moon. They make up the field team of the Limbus Company Bus Department, a crew that travels around the City clearing dungeons and fighting enemies under your command. Each Sinner can be built in several ways, so knowing how they work is the key to stronger battles.

Who Are the Sinners in Limbus Company?
The Sinners are the twelve members of the Limbus Company Bus Department who fight for you, and each one is inspired by a famous literary work. Faust comes from Goethe's play, Don Quixote from Cervantes's novel, Meursault from Camus's The Stranger, and Gregor from Kafka's The Metamorphosis. They travel together on a special bus called Mephistopheles. Dante, the manager you play as, is counted among the Sinners too, but Dante doesn't fight in battle.
The literary links are more than a nod. The story is built around these characters: its chapters, called Cantos, are character-driven and dig into each Sinner's past and trauma. Knowing who they are makes those chapters land harder.
Do You Need to Pull to Get Sinners?
No. Every player starts with all twelve Sinners, so a pull never unlocks one. Pulls through Extraction, the game's gacha system, give you Identities and E.G.O, which make the Sinners you already have stronger. Base Identities are free, and others come from Extraction, the Limbus Pass, events and the Dispenser, so a new player can start building a team right away.
How Do Identities Work?
Identities are alternate versions of a Sinner, drawn from the Mirror Worlds, and each Sinner has several of them. An Identity belongs to that one Sinner alone, and it brings its own skills, stat spread and resistances. Two Identities of the same Sinner can play very differently, so the form you choose changes how that Sinner fights.
What Is E.G.O and How Does It Work?
E.G.O are the Sinners' ultimate attacks, and they're often much stronger than a regular skill. Each one costs Sin resources to use, and your team builds those resources by using skills of the matching Sin type, so you need to plan E.G.O and skills together. E.G.O come in risk levels from ZAYIN up to WAW. Only E.G.O with a Corrosion skill can corrode, and that risk grows as the Sinner's Sanity drops, so the base ZAYIN E.G.O every Sinner starts with is always safe to use. The last E.G.O a Sinner used also decides which Sin types they resist, so timing matters.
How to Build a Team of Sinners
Most fights cap how many Sinners you can field, so who you bring matters. A good starting point is to choose one status effect, such as Bleed, Burn or Tremor, since these are the easiest to build around early. Pair Sinners who apply that same status so the effect builds up faster.
Also make sure your E.G.O match the Sin resources your team actually generates, or you may never have enough to use them.
FAQ
What is Sanity (SP), and how does it affect Sinners?
Sanity, shown as SP, runs from -45 to 45 for each Sinner. It sets the chance a coin lands heads at 50 percent plus the Sinner's SP, so at 20 SP heads comes up 70 percent of the time. Winning Clashes and defeating enemies raises it, while using E.G.O and losing allies lowers it. At -30 or lower a Sinner may suffer Low Morale, and at -45 they panic. Most story fights start Sinners at zero.
Can you use all 12 Sinners in one battle?
Not in most stages, since each fight caps how many Sinners you can field. In Chain Battles, though, backups can step in when a Sinner dies or retreats, effectively letting you use all twelve. A backup starts with a 10 SP bonus that grows based on its place in the substitute order.
Can a Sinner die for good?
In battle, a fallen Sinner is out for the rest of that fight. Within the story, Dante can "turn back the clock" to restore a Sinner's body after injury or death, so a fall isn't always the end.
