The pre-alpha build currently centers on moving colored pieces, finding the next tool or key, and making a careful final run through the house, but the exact items and order can change between updates.
Keep a retreat route in mind whenever you explore. Break line of sight, use corners and openings, and follow the live prompts when an interaction appears. The nest is not handing out a map, so learning landmarks matters more than memorizing a fixed route.

Escape objects turn the nest into a route you solve under pressure. Move the Red Cube, Blue Cube, and Yellow Cube to matching pads to reach the Wire Cutter, search changing cabinets for the Key, and take the Keycard from The Locust before following the current exit prompts. Because the experience is pre-alpha, object locations and interactions can shift between builds.
House of The Locust Gameplay Tips
- Learn the colored-pad room and green exit as landmarks, but follow the current objective prompts instead of memorizing fixed item spots.
- Search one room or route at a time and track what you have checked. Before picking up an objective, plan how you will get back.
- If The Locust closes in, turn through a corner or room change and leave yourself an opening. Do not force an interaction while exposed.
- Keep audio on and pause a search when danger sounds close. Check the live in-game settings and prompts each session because this pre-alpha build can change its controls and escape steps.
